About the Role
The incumbent plays a critical core technical role in designing custom technology solutions to business problems that meet Enterprise requirements. You will be expected to work independently with a strong technical know-how that enables you to propose sound, practical solutions to business problems. Influencing skills are a must, not only to resolve conflicts, but also to manage stakeholders across the business and IT community. You should already have the ability to think laterally and quickly grasp key concepts, have a positive attitude and be resilient when dealing with business challenges.
As a technical SME, you will be expected to coach and develop future ready highly Technical Architect (TA) capable talents internally to reduce enterprise risk of resource dependency.
The Principal in Integral Life Delivery Management is responsible for leading the end-to-end software development process and must have strong life insurance business/IL technical knowledge. Must have strong Leadership, Initiatives, and Teamwork to work with other technology teams.
Possessing a deep understanding of but not limited to SMART and AS400 technologies, solution architects collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and other IT professionals to create cohesive and efficient systems.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Partnering with stakeholders in evaluating, solutioning, implementation of new initiatives & whole development lifecycle in/of but not limited to the AS400/Integral Life system.
- Overseeing the alignment of all technology solutions to existing enterprise and system architecture.
- Owning solution design and providing technical leadership within but not limited to AS400/Integral Life delivery teams.
- Identifying pain points, potential risks, and issues related to solutions and taking appropriate actions.
- Ensuring system integrity of the AS400/Integral Life.
- Ensuring architecture principles are adhered to, design review and defined tech stack and prevailing technology Quality Procedure.
- Designing, planning, developing (coding and assigning developer tasks) and documenting change initiatives within but not limited to the AS400/IL system.
- Team development and Leadership: As a team lead to provide technical guidance, coaching or mentorship in developing Technical Architect (TA) team's capabilities internally to reduce enterprise risk of a resource dependency.
- Commitment to complete/deliver solutions at defined timeline and budget.
- Involvement in Technology initiatives in such areas like security, compliance, system resilience etc.
- Timely and quality technology solutions, alignments, and deliverables.
- Using best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products or services.
- Manage resources and ability to perform capacity planning.
- Solving moderately complex problems; taking a new perspective on existing solutions.
- Interpreting customer needs, assessing requirements and identifying solutions to non-standard requests.
- Negotiating with, influencing and engaging others in complex and conflicting situations to drive a positive outcome.
- Making decisions for team's priorities and allocation of time to meet overall business objectives.
- Being accountable for technical contribution to project team or sub-team.
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE
- Degree from a recognized University preferably in Business, Insurance Studies, Information Technology, Computer Science, Actuarial Science etc.
- Life insurance knowledge in Life Administration, Actuarial, Policy servicing, Claim, Agency Admin/ Commission and Finance.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience in Life Insurance/Integral Life system various functions.
- Extensive experience in working on life insurance product implementation and good knowledge of life insurance products.
- Experience in Integral Life system product set up and managing IT projects, business analysis and organizational/business change.
- Demonstrable experience of working at mid to senior levels of large and complex organizations.
- Professional qualification in Life Insurance i.e., Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII), Life Office Management Association (LOMA), Australian Institute of Insurance (AII), International Claim Association (ICA) or other related to Life Insurance Industry would be an added advantage.
- In-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline.
- Good organizational ability, able to multi-task within a complex environment and have good people skills.
- Expertise in own discipline and awareness of costs related to own work.
