Summary of Job

As a Senior Executive / Executive in IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity, you will contribute to the school's IT infrastructure's strategic development, modernisation, and operational management. Your key focus will be ensuring a resilient, scalable, and secure technology ecosystem aligning with business and academic objectives. You will collaborate closely with the Infrastructure Lead, to assist in vendor performance, drive the adoption of advanced technologies, and contribute to IT governance, budget planning, and cybersecurity initiatives.

Major Job Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure Management

  1. Support the school-wide IT infrastructure implementation and management, including administration of routers, firewalls, switches, servers, networks, cloud platforms, and endpoints.
  2. Involved in the modernization and optimization of IT infrastructure to support scalability, security, and efficiency while aligning with institutional goals.
  3. Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and cybersecurity frameworks.

Operational Excellence & Vendor Management

  1. Support management of IT service vendors, ensuring adherence to SLAs, project milestones, and contractual obligations.
  2. Support continuous performance monitoring, risk assessment, and compliance audits to maintain a high level of IT service delivery.
  3. Support establishing and maintaining operational procedures, policies, and documentation to enhance IT governance.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  1. Implement and manage network security, system controls, and threat mitigation strategies to safeguard critical infrastructure.
  2. Assist in business continuity planning (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR) exercises, ensuring IT resilience.
  3. Ensure compliance with data protection and cybersecurity regulations, supporting audits and risk assessments.

Technology & Digital Transformation

  1. Assist in evaluating, implementing, and managing new technologies and online platforms that enhance teaching and learning (e.g., ManageBac, Turnitin, ASC Timetabling).
  2. Leverage cloud computing, automation, and AI-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  3. Support initiatives that support digital transformation and hybrid learning environments.

Resource & Budget Planning

  1. Assist in the annual IT budget planning and resource allocation, optimising investments in infrastructure and cybersecurity.
  2. Provide insights into cost-saving measures and strategic procurement to enhance ROI.

Support & Stakeholder Engagement

  1. Provide technical guidance on network, security, and infrastructure enhancements.
  2. Support cross-functional collaboration with academic and administrative departments to align IT initiatives with institutional needs.
  3. Offer after-hours support for critical infrastructure-related incidents and scheduled maintenance.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Knowledge/Skills)

  1. Diploma / Degree in Information Technology, Computer Studies, or a similar discipline.
  2. IT Certifications such as ITIL/MCSE.
  3. Preferably at least 3 years of experience in infrastructure/servers support, preferably in an education institution.
  4. Strong working knowledge and ability to apply architecture concepts, frameworks and methodologies to projects.
  5. A strong understanding of Microsoft Windows Servers/VMWare/Network Infrastructure is necessary.
  6. Good interpersonal communication, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  7. Good writing skills.
  8. Able to work as a team.
  9. Involvement in IT infrastructure design, installation, and operations management of the school-wide IT infrastructure systems.
  10. Manage and ensure IT-managed service vendors are performing based on the SLA and achieving project milestones.
  11. Provide solution and guidance expertise to support the functional and technical design/change in the area of network, security and system control features.
  12. Design and implement plans to make sure servers and network structures meet business needs and scale up for future requirements.
  13. Perform a wide range of server and network administration duties, including installation, maintenance, upgrades and general support for the router, firewall, switches, etc.
  14. Prepare and maintain operational procedures and documentation.
  15. Part of the Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery Team.
  16. Assist in planning for department budget and resource allocation.
  17. Review opportunities to apply new technologies to drive continuous improvement in the IT Infrastructure space that add values to SOTA.
  18. Explore and manage online platforms and technologies tools to support teaching and learning, such as ManageBac, Turnitin, ASC Timetabling, etc.
  19. Provide after-hour support for infrastructure-related emergencies as well as occasional weekend maintenance.
  20. Manage and maintain SSOE laptops, MOE IAMS and SLS accounts, School COCKPIT and any other MOE-related issues.
