*This position will be at our production plant at Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia.

We’re based in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia, where over 900 full-time staff are working in 51,000 square meters of covered shop floor. This working environment has been carefully designed to allow cutting-edge technology to operate hand-in-hand with traditional craftsmanship under the supervision of an 18-man design team. This close working relationship is essential given the ongoing role that innovation plays in the development of our yachts.

We have a wide range of design and engineering work available that we divide between our talented team members, which includes:

1. Creating 3D CAD models of new designs using a high level of Solidworks will be advantageous.
2. Design interior and exterior components fit for use in a marine application.
3. Design using a variety of materials including timber, stainless steel, FRP, and Carbon Fibre.
4. Working closely with Engineers to ensure componentry and engineering systems integrate seamlessly and are fit for purpose.
5. Complete engineering drawings & assembly drawings using Solidworks / Autocad.
6. Develop production bill of materials.
7. Provide support to the purchasing department and compile material lists from external suppliers.
8. Produce designs to assist with large form factor mold making, using traditional techniques as well as cutting-edge robot CNC.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Assist the Design Department with all aspects of new boat designs including new boat & development start-up, furniture designs, interior and exterior fit-outs, mechanical & electrical systems and boat testing.
2. Work with Human Resources and factory personnel on improvement and upgrade the current GB Design, Development, Quality Assurance and Production teams to work efficiently and independently.
3. Work with Quality Assurance to establish parameters such that all boats are finished and commissioned to an appropriate level, which will decrease warranty expenditures when offloaded in the Vessel’s home port.
4. Help out as required with other aspects of the yacht manufacturing process in Malaysia. Assist all Production Departments to increase productivity by improving designs and drawings in order to lower the total hours to complete the yacht and meet the production timetable.
5. The Executive shall also undertake such responsibilities and perform such duties as may from time to time be assigned to him by or under the authority of their Department Head or Managing Director or CEO.

What we prefer

1. Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Industrial Design or Product Design.
2. Have a strong proficiency in Solidworks software.
3. Have an excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
4. Possess creative problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
5. Motivated and articulate.
6. Great time management with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet conflicting deadlines.
