Global Ad Technology Department (GATD) manages the totality of the advertising systems that support Rakuten. We are a cross-organizational and data-driven organization that works in a diverse team across five countries: Japan, Singapore, India, China and the UK. We develop, maintain, and improve Rakuten's advertising platform and data-driven marketing solutions to support internal and external stakeholders, while also managing our own marketing research and advertising media tools.We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to act as a strategic partner to business leaders and managers.

Key Responsibilities:

This role requires a proactive and strategic HR professional who can drive business results through effective people management and organizational development. Partnering with the business leader, the incumbent will be responsible to

  • Strategic Partnership:Collaborate with business leaders to provide thought leadership on organizational strategy, change management, and the execution of HR initiatives that align with business objectives.
  • People Programs:Partnering with various COEs and country HRs, implement and manage people programs, including employee engagement, leadership development, succession planning, talent review, organizational design, performance management to attract, retain, and develop key talent.
  • Workforce Planning:Develop and execute workforce planning strategies to ensure the organization has the right talent to meet current and future needs, including workforce analysis and recruitment planning.
  • Employee Relations:Manage and work with local HRs to resolve complex employee relations issues, conduct thorough investigations, and work to improve work relationships, morale, productivity, and retention.
  • Data and Metrics Analysis:Analyse HR trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies, and track HR metrics related to workforce planning, resource utilization, and budget adherence.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive HRBP or COE Business Partner experience, with minimum 3 years of regional or global exposure.
  • Demonstrated experience in either HR strategy, workforce planning, business partnering and at least one other HR pillar: talent management, organization development, performance management and/or HR operations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for building strong relationships with employees and stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and change management expertise to lead HR initiatives and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Excellent negotiation abilities for conflict resolution and achieving stakeholders' buy-in.
  • Problem-solving and applying creative solutions, seeking efficiencies and improvements.
  • Proactive planner to anticipate future organization operational needs.
  • Policy development and implementation to support organization governance
  • Familiarity and comfort working with multiple country HR systems and regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse team and senior stakeholders.
  • Japanese language proficiency would be good to communicate with Japan counterpart, but not a must.
