Primary Objectives of Position
Execute the overall day-to-day operations for the rail business in HR matters.
Assist in promoting and sustaining a healthy industrial relations climate.
Major Responsibilities
- Execute the overall day-to-day operations for the business in HR matters for various job functions.
- Maintain good employee relations by partnering with business managers and department heads, providing professional HR advice, and participating in business meetings.
- Administer performance management processes, including Performance Improvement Plans and tracking disciplinary actions.
- Assist in administrative tasks related to change management, including organizational restructuring and relevant workflow changes.
- Coordinate staff recognition events, meal provisions, festive celebrations, engagement sessions, and ceremonies, as well as general administrative tracking duties and HR service level feedback or staff grievance feedback.
- Prepare HR monthly statistics and ad-hoc reports under guidance.
- Participate in work groups or committees as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Provide timely internal communications and assist in process administration where assigned.
- Familiarize with all HR systems to provide guidance on usage and functionalities to internal stakeholders.
- Assist with tracking and processing staff matters related to pandemic procedures.
- Attend to staff matters at any MRT stations when necessary.
- Assist in other HR functions such as talent acquisition activities, act as HR department learning coordinator, and respond to queries on prevailing HR policies and circulars for internal customers.
Industrial Relations
- Serve as an alternate interface between Management and Union representatives, coordinating union management meeting scheduling.
- Handle and track staff grievances and disciplinary issues under the guidance of the HRBP.
Centre of Excellence (COEs) and Shared Services
Work in partnership with Centre of Excellence (COEs) and Shared Services for all matters pertaining to employee services, pay clarifications, staff benefits, claims, and leave matters.
Staff Engagement and Corporate Events
Coordinate event requirements with regulators and essential parties (management, union, employees, etc.).
Audits
Participate in all internal and external audits in terms of coordination and requesting required resources from Centre of Excellence (COE) to Shared Services.
Reports
- Assist in the preparation of monthly statistics and reports.
- Coordinate orientation coverage for new hires where required.
- Track assigned reports based on operational requirements or reports required by regulators or management.
Job Specifications
Degree in Human Resource Management.
More than 3 years of relevant experience in a sizeable organization.
Knowledge/Skills
- Familiar with Employment Act.
- Proficient in Excel formulae (pivot table, vlookup, countifs).
- Good interpersonal and writing skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
