Job description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Manager to manage the HR department, overseeing core functions in Recruitment, Payroll/Compensation and benefits, Staff performance evaluation, and Employee welfare and retention. This role will report to both the Managing Director and the Senior Strategy Manager, providing HR expertise and strategic support to align HR functions with business goals. This position is suited for an HR professional with 2-3 years of senior executive or management experience ideally in retail or a customer-centric industry. The HR Manager will play a key role in creating a positive workplace culture, driving engagement, and ensuring operational excellence within the HR function.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Talent Acquisition and Recruitment
    • Oversee the recruitment process, from job posting and sourcing to interviewing and onboarding, ensuring a smooth and effective recruitment process.
    • Work with department heads to define role requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
    • Implement strategies to attract talent.
    • Work with HR agencies to headhunt talents.
  2. Performance Management
    • Manage the performance appraisal process, working with managers to set goals, provide feedback, and support employee development.
    • Identify and implement strategies to improve individual and team performance, aligned with business objectives.
    • Support managers in handling performance improvement plans and employee discipline issues.
  3. Training and Development
    • Identify skill gaps and collaborate with managers to design training programs that enhance employee capabilities.
    • Facilitate continuous learning and career growth through structured training, workshops, and mentorship.
  4. HR Operations and Compliance
    • Oversee HR operations, including payroll processing, leave management, and employee records, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
    • Handle work pass applications, renewals, and other MOM requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with Singapore’s labor laws, health and safety standards, and company policies.
    • Regularly review and update HR policies to align with regulatory changes and industry best practices.
  5. Compensation and Benefits Administration
    • Oversee payroll and ensure timely, accurate processing of employee salaries and benefits.
    • Conduct salary benchmarking to ensure Mister Mobile remains competitive in the market.
    • Manage benefits programs, addressing employee queries related to leave, insurance, and other benefits.
  6. HR Data and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate employee records and HR metrics (e.g., turnover, retention) to inform strategic decision-making.
    • Generate regular reports for senior management on HR key performance indicators (KPIs) and workforce trends.
  7. Culture and Employee Engagement Initiatives
    • Organize team events and surveys to measure and improve employee satisfaction and engagement.
    • Work with leadership to promote a positive and productive work culture, supporting company values and goals.
  8. Leadership
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to the HR team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, accountability, and commitment to company values.
    • Support the development of HR staff, helping them grow in their roles and advance their HR knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in management-related HR roles, ideally within retail or customer service industries.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of Singapore MOM laws and best practices in HR, such as CPF, Key employment terms, Employee/employer rights, online jobs portal.
    • Proven track record in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
    • Proficiency in HR software and MS Office Suite.
    • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
