Job description

The HR Generalist is essential in supporting the organization's HR functions, ensuring compliance with local employment laws, and fostering a positive workplace environment. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of HR practices, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and benefits administration, with a focus on alignment with Singaporean regulations and workplace culture.

Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate onboarding to ensure new hires are smoothly integrated and familiar with company policies and culture.
  2. Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries, offering guidance on company policies and Singaporean labor laws.
  3. Drive employee engagement and satisfaction through various initiatives, including team-building activities.
  4. Assist in implementing and managing performance appraisal processes.
  5. Support managers in handling performance issues and developing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
  6. Monitor and evaluate employee performance, providing feedback and coaching as necessary.
  7. Administer employee benefits programs, including CPF contributions, health insurance, and other statutory benefits.
  8. Ensure compliance with Singapore's employment regulations, such as the Employment Act and related legislation.
  9. Address employee benefits inquiries and manage the annual benefits review process.
  10. Ensure HR policies comply with Singaporean labour laws and regulations.
  11. Maintain accurate employee records, including work passes for foreign employees.
  12. Assist with government audits and maintain confidentiality of employee information.
  13. Assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures in line with Singaporean laws.
  14. Regularly update policies to reflect changes in regulations and best practices.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. 2-5 years of HR experience, ideally as an HR Generalist in Singapore.
  3. Strong knowledge of Singaporean labor laws and HR best practices.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  8. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, CIPD) is a plus.
