About the Team
Join a dedicated and dynamic team of HR Business Partners supporting the mission of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS). Founded in 1929, FASS is one of the largest faculties at the National University of Singapore, comprising 16 departments and 3 Faculty Research Centres.
As an HR Business Partner, you will report to the Lead HR Partner for FASS and collaborate with HR functional teams and the HR Shared Services team within the Office of Human Resources to meet the needs of both the Faculty and the University.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a key member of the HR Partnering team at FASS, you will:
- Collaborate with academic leaders, function heads, and line managers to provide expert HR advisory services.
- Manage staff appointments and re-appointments on the academic scheme.
- Oversee and drive staff programmes, processes, and initiatives such as promotions, tenure reviews, mid-term advisory reports, academic awards, and consultation work policies.
- Facilitate annual performance reviews and compensation processes for academic staff.
- Address complex employee relations matters and resolve disciplinary issues.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience: Preferably with at least 5 years as an HR Business Partner or equivalent role.
- Education: A University degree, preferably with a specialization in Human Resource Management.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a service-oriented mindset and the ability to relate well to individuals at all levels.
- High IT literacy and excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Good knowledge and experience in talent attraction, acquisition, development, and retention.
- Strong people management capabilities.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle tight deadlines with meticulous attention to detail.
- Resourceful, self-motivated, and committed to upholding professional integrity.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and a “can-do” mindset.
- A collaborative team player who considers the interests of the team and the University.
