Job Profile Summary

Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) supporting businesses across the Asia-Pacific region, including Support and Control, Corporate and Investment Banking, Research, and Global Markets. Strategic role in delivering people solutions that support business objectives. Assess business needs, plan, develop and implement HR strategies and practices for a portfolio, providing consultative HR support to business priorities and drive growth & value. Leverage relationships across various HR partners and functions to drive an integrated and collaborative approach to create and deliver people solutions. This role requires experience navigating the complex, fast-paced, and regulatory-driven nature of the business in a highly matrixed global environment.

Key Accountabilities

CUSTOMER

  • Provide strategic and consultative HR support to business leaders across Support & Control, Corporate and Investment Banking, Research, and/or Global Markets businesses.
  • Collaborate to develop HR initiatives that align with business goals, fostering growth, competitive advantage, and operational excellence.
  • Support the delivery of all key cyclical HR activities; Pay, Performance Management, Talent Review, Employee Survey, Learning Plan, balancing global consistency with local requirements.
  • Advise and coach business leaders to become more effective managers, address talent challenges, and navigate leadership complexities within a heavily regulated environment.
  • Deliver solutions in areas such as talent strategy, organizational design, leadership development, and change management that support business outcomes.
  • Participate in business planning, providing HR insights that shape strategy, organizational structure, and talent planning. Work with business leaders to manage headcount, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness while ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals.
  • Drive the talent agenda by developing and executing talent management strategies specific to the Securities business.
  • Partner with business leaders to assess future skills needs, strengthen leadership pipelines, and ensure diverse talent is identified, developed, and retained.
  • Support recruitment activity including our Early in Career and Return to Work programs.

SHAREHOLDER

  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, in alignment with bank practices and risk appetite.
  • Identify, mitigate and report on risk issues (business and HR) per enterprise policy / guidelines and ensure appropriate escalation processes are followed.
  • Ensure respective programs/ policies/ practices are well managed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with HR priorities.
  • Support or lead initiatives with enterprise-wide impact, ensuring that all HR programs, policies, and practices are effectively managed and meet the needs of the business.

EMPLOYEE TEAM

  • Collaborate with regional and global team members as well as partners in our Centers of Excellence (COEs) in Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI), and Employee Relations to deliver integrated HR solutions.
  • Facilitate strong partnerships across the HR function and support other team members to ensure alignment and seamless service to the business.
  • Keep current on key trends in the industry and HR landscape (including regulatory changes), translating into organizational insights and effective management of the regional business.
  • Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency.

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Accountable for a significant business / function portfolio (i.e. Support and Control or Global Markets) that typically has enterprise wide impact or accountability.
  • Undertake and complete complex initiatives that may require the support of regional/global teams and integration of cross functional processes.
  • Role will support and partner with regional executives including members of the Asia-Pacific Management Committee.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Demonstrated HR business partner experience with direct client support.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a HR business partner role within Financial Services or a related field in a complex, heavily matrixed environment.
  • Extensive practical experience in HR functional areas, including recruitment; employment law and relations; policy and programs development; performance and talent management; succession planning; development, reward and benefits.
  • Proficient in using HR systems and data management tools.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to manage relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of HR compliance and regulatory requirements within the financial services industry is advantageous.
