Housekeeping Room Attendant

The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for the cleanliness and orderly presentation of rooms and public areas to create a positive impression for guests. The individual performs cleaning, replenishes amenities, and supplies as well as checks and reports items in need of maintenance or replacement. This department plays a crucial role in ensuring that the physical aspects of the hotel meet high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and presentation.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms for incoming guests such as changing bed linens, replenishing amenities, vacuuming, dusting, and ensuring that the room is in a pristine condition.
2. Maintains the cleanliness of public areas such as lobbies, corridors, and elevators to ensure cleanliness level conforms to hotel standards.
3. Report any maintenance issues such as carpet cleaning requirements and pest infestations.
4. Report and hand in any Lost and Found items to the Floor Supervisors/Housekeeping office.
5. Ensures all the cleaning tools and equipment used are clean and kept in good working condition at all times.
6. Maintain stock inventory of cleaning supplies, amenities, and linens to ensure that there are no shortages and that inventory is well-maintained.
7. Perform well on daily tasks efficiently and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in fast-paced environments.
8. Provides assistance to guest queries and resolves any guest’s feedback or issues with housekeeping.
9. Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 1 year experience in a housekeeping role.
2. Able to converse in English.
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shift work.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Able to perform rotating shifts and 6 days work week.
8. Willing to work on weekends and public holidays.
9. Willing to commit OT when required.
10. On-the-job training will be provided for those without relevant experience.
