Healthcare Assistant

About the role

As a Healthcare Assistant at SASCO Senior Citizens' Home, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to our valued residents. This full-time position in the West Region offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults within a warm and supportive environment.

What you'll be doing

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as personal care, mobilisation, and rehabilitation
• Provide emotional support and engage residents in social and recreational activities
• Monitor residents' health and well-being, and report any changes to the nursing team
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident care
• Contribute to the implementation of resident care plans and ensure delivery of person-centred care
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to meet the holistic needs of our residents

Duties and responsibilities

1) Assist in taking clients’ vital signs.

2) Report to superior if any abnormality observed.

3) Conduct activities with clients.

4) Assist client in showering, ambulation/exercise, and toileting.

5) Kitchen duties which involve simple food preparation.

6) Disinfect and clean Centre and equipment.

7) Perform escort duty for van transport.

8) Assist enrolled Nurse /Registered Nurse as when required.

9) Other additional operational duties as assigned by Centre Manager

Qualifications & Skills Required

• Care of elderly related certificate would be an advantage.
• Compassion, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Escort for medical activities
• Support and care towards the residents
• Work on shift include weekends & night shift
