Health, Environment and Safety Officer (Sustainability)

Key Responsibilities

1. To lead the team of HSE Coordinators and HSE Supervisors on site.
2. Provide advice in all aspects of safety to the Project Team.
3. Monitor HSE compliance in accordance with local legislations and ISG standards at site for all work activities.
4. Ensure Fire Safety on site by conducting comprehensive Fire Risk Assessment and cascading of evacuation procedures during EHS induction and Mass Tool Box Sessions.
5. Assist and advise Project Team and Trade contractors in the conductance of relevant Risk Assessments and drafting Method Statements.
6. Review or assist in the review with the project manager/construction manager or trade contractor managers/engineers on all RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements).
7. Record checks (through monthly inspection) and firefighting equipment.
8. Ensure relevant safety signage within the project area.
9. Ensure site safety notice boards are updated with current information.
10. Participate and assist in HSE audits and produce audit reports and follow up on any actions required.
11. Complete and compile daily site report for distribution to ISG site staff.
12. Communicate safety performance to the project team on site.
13. Ensure timely collation of HSE statistics and data and submit to Senior HSQE Manager and Project Manager.
14. Proactively identify safety hazards and near misses to ensure a safe working condition by ensuring immediate rectifications.
15. Provide advice and assistance on HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) aspects to all employees.
16. Monitor compliance with safe work procedures/practices.
17. Prepare and participate in safety meetings and programs.
18. Facilitate toolbox talks on a regular basis.
19. Prepare and conduct project safety inductions.
20. Lead by example and promote a positive safety culture at every opportunity.
21. Facilitate the maintenance of the safety management system and records.
22. Participate in regular workplace inspections and ensure that any improvements resulting from such an inspection are actioned in the required timeframe.

Education & Training

1. Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health from approved local training providers.
2. NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent will be an added advantage.
3. Registered WSHO (Workplace Safety & Health Officer) with MOM.
4. Licensed ECO (Environmental Control Officer) with NEA.
5. 3 years or more of relevant working experience.
