Job description

The Head, Products and Propositions will be responsible for leading the development, management, and marketing of our life insurance products and propositions, with a strong emphasis on customer-centricity and targeted consumer segments. This role will play a critical part in driving product innovation, market differentiation, and customer engagement. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the life insurance market in Singapore and the region, strong strategic thinking abilities, and a proven track record of product development and management focused on consumer needs and preferences.

Product Strategy And Development

  • Develop and execute the product strategy in alignment with the company’s overall business objectives, with a focus on customer-centric solutions.
  • Lead the ideation, development, and launch of new life insurance products and propositions tailored to specific consumer segments.
  • Conduct market research and consumer analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
  • Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, operations and other cross-functional teams to ensure product feasibility and compliance.

Product Management

  • Manage the entire product lifecycle, from concept to sunset, ensuring products meet the needs of targeted consumer segments and business goals.
  • Monitor product performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize product offerings.
  • Implement product enhancements and updates based on market feedback and emerging consumer trends.

Marketing And Propositions

  • Develop compelling value propositions and go-to-market strategies for life insurance products.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to create effective product marketing campaigns and materials that resonate with different consumer segments.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and positioning of products across all marketing channels, focusing on customer-centric narratives.

Customer Focus

  • Advocate for customer-centric product development, ensuring products meet the needs and expectations of target consumer segments.
  • Utilize customer insights and feedback to drive product improvements and innovation.
  • Enhance customer engagement and satisfaction through innovative product features and services that address specific consumer needs.

Leadership And Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers and marketing professionals, fostering a customer-centric approach.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on understanding and addressing consumer needs.
  • Set clear performance objectives and provide regular feedback and development opportunities.
  • As part of the leadership team, work with key stakeholders to proactively shape the organisation’s culture and conduct environment that is aligned to the organization’s Core Values
  • Champion culture and conduct behavioral expectations within the Department/Division
  • Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

Our Requirements

  • University degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Insurance or Finance. Actuarial Background will be an advantage
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in product management and development within the life insurance industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing life insurance products with a focus on consumer segments and customer-centricity.
  • Good business acumen with strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge on financial and insurance concepts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Demonstrates alignment with the organisation’s core values through expected behaviours
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
