About the role:
The successful candidate for Head, Operations will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of BlueSG, ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and smooth running of all key operational functions. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on management skills to lead the team, optimise processes, and scale operations effectively with a data-driven and technology-centric approach.

Operational Strategy and Leadership

• Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with the company’s strategies, goals and roadmap.
• Oversee and manage day-to-day operations across areas such as command centre operations, fleet management, vehicle maintenance, inventory management and network development
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation to prioritise operational excellence and cost efficiency; lead the implementation of such initiatives.
• Lead, develop and mentor managers and teams in the Operations department.

Fleet Management

• Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and optimisation of the Electric Vehicle (EV) fleet to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, service providers, and third-party vendors.
• Monitor fleet performance, analyse data trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure regular vehicle maintenance and inspection in compliance with laws and safety regulations.

Technology Integration and Optimisation

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional technology teams to ensure operational systems are fully optimised.
• Ensure smooth and seamless integration of operational workflows into the company’s technological platforms.
• Lead efforts to implement new technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Champion the use of data and technology to achieve the department’s goals, such as in fleet allocation, availability and maintenance.

Network Development

• Drive and execute the network development strategy.
• Identify opportunities to expand BlueSG’s network of car-sharing stations.
• Negotiate key partnership agreements to acquire sites for network development
• Oversee on-ground deployment of acquired sites.

Business Performance and Reporting

• Develop, track and improve operational key performance indicators (KPIs) such as fleet availability and operational costs.
• Report and analyse operational performance, including insights, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee and manage financial budgets to ensure operational objectives are met within allocated resource.

• Compliance and Risk Management
• Ensure the department’s compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
• Identify risks across all operational aspects; develop and implement mitigation plans.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in automotive or transport operations management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in managing a large team, ideally in a tech-driven, high-growth company or the automotive sector.
• Data-driven with the ability to analyse operational data and implement actionable insights to optimise performance.
• Results-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Strategic thinker with a hands-on, execution-focused mindset.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with and influence diverse stakeholders.
