Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee the planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of a tiered system of services, utilizing the specialized clinical skillsets of social workers to deliver necessary support to caregivers of our students, DAC clients, and residents with autism. This includes thoughtful deployment of social workers to lead colleagues in managing complex cases requiring various parties to play different roles, delivering holistic support to students, clients, and residents.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Allied Professional team (psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists) to develop holistic approaches for the development and care of students, clients, and residents, with particular emphasis on the role of Social Workers in strengthening caregiver support.
• Provide direction, supervision, and guidance to Social Workers to deliver holistic caregiver support, including facilitating admissions and referrals and helping caregivers navigate community resources.
• Lead the team of Social Workers to support the families of students, clients, and residents, enabling caregivers to better care for them by building networks with agencies and partners, such as Family Service Centres, Social Service Offices, CDCs, and other social service agencies offering specialized services.
• Work with the CEO and Heads of Services (School Principal, Head of Adult Services, and Head of Home) to conceptualize and implement enhanced systems of caregiver support, designing support structures to address the complex needs of caregivers of persons with moderate to severe autism.
• Oversee the administration of the department and perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Registered social worker with at least 5 years of experience (preferably in the disability sector), including 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong leadership and clinical supervision skills to guide, grow, and develop the team of Social Workers.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.
• Good understanding of the unique context of working with persons with autism, or a willingness and desire to learn about autism.
• A desire to be a serving leader.
