Role Summary

The Head of Partnerships & Development is a senior leadership position responsible for driving the organisation's strategic partnerships and external communications. This role involves building and managing key relationships, securing funding opportunities, and promoting the organisation's mission and impact.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Leadership & Strategy:
    Develop and implement a strategic plan for partnerships, fundraising, marketing, communications, and volunteer management, aligned with the organisation's mission and goals.
    Lead and guide the division, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
    Oversee budget planning and management for the division.
    Monitor the effectiveness of initiatives, making adjustments as needed.
    Stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in fundraising, marketing, communications, and volunteer management.
  2. Fundraising:
    Create and implement a diversified fundraising strategy, covering individual giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, and special events.
    Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and prospective donors.
    Manage fundraising campaigns and events to maximize participation and revenue.
    Track fundraising progress and provide regular updates to the leadership team.
    Collaborate with the Director of Services & Programmes to ensure timely submission of high-quality grant proposals.
  3. Marketing & Communications:
    Develop and execute a marketing and communications plan to enhance the organisation's visibility and stakeholder engagement.
    Oversee the creation of compelling content across all platforms, including the website, social media, email, and print.
    Manage media relations and foster relationships with journalists and influencers.
    Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels.
  4. Partnerships:
    Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships with businesses, foundations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
    Initiate collaborative projects that align with the organisation's mission and provide mutual value.
    Negotiate and manage partnership agreements, while maintaining strong relationships with existing partners.
  5. Volunteer Management:
    Create and implement a comprehensive volunteer management program, covering recruitment, training, placement, and recognition.
    Design meaningful volunteer opportunities that meet organisational needs and interests.
    Manage volunteer data and track contributions, recognizing and appreciating volunteers' efforts.
  6. Staff Management:
    Provide supervision, mentorship, and development opportunities for staff.
    Guide new staff through onboarding and career development processes.
    Ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
    Oversee HR-related matters for the department, including performance management and professional development.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role within partnerships, fundraising, or marketing.
