The Head of Learning and Development is responsible for developing and executing learning and development strategies for dnata Singapore.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead, supervise and guide a diverse team of training specialists to align training and development programs with organizational goals.
Responsible for designing, developing, and delivering leadership and organizational development programs to address organizational transitions and skills gaps by engaging with business leaders and stakeholders.
Cultivate an internal talent pipeline through coaching, learning and engaging employees from all levels.
Provide timely, flexible, and innovative learning solutions which are aligned to department objectives, business targets/ KPIs and dnata's Vision, Mission, and Values to generate effective return on training investment in a high-volume growth environment.
Design and develop short- and medium-term learning strategies that incorporate generic and specific skill and knowledge while ensuring alignment to set objectives.
Review the learning strategy in collaboration with relevant business needs against specified criteria prior to and post implementation.
Conduct organizational training analysis of current, emerging, and future training needs in order to provide line departments with comprehensive training solutions and achieve improvement in the training KPIs.
Manage the design and development of a cost-effective and innovative training curriculum.
Ensure all training programs incorporate department SOPs and safety implications. Programs must adhere to dnata Training Policy and Procedures and the requirements of relevant National and International Training standards.
Manage and direct the training evaluation activity and monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of the training programs and their impact on the workforce capability, and influence on business KPIs. Suggest enhancements or alternatives to training programs for continuous improvements.
Recruit, develop and manage a core training team within dnata, who are responsible for the design, delivery, and facilitation of training programs.
Continuously develop the dnata training team to ensure they are fully competent in their areas of specialization and have relevant nationally recognized training qualifications.
Manage and direct the Training Administration team to effectively support the business departments’ initial, recurrent and developmental training needs using the Learning Management System (LMS) and as laid down in the Training Policy and Procedures. This is to be achieved through providing timely training, monthly training management report, and optimal utilization of recourses.
Manage and monitor training projects with respect to new processes, procedures, and corporate initiatives in close partnership with business departments and relevant stakeholders such as HR, IT, and Corporate Communications.
Identify areas for training business process improvement and use best practices, methodologies, and innovative learning technology to enhance the existing processes.
Promote the dnata Training portfolio of courses to external customers, Airport Authorities and Ground Handling Companies to increase additional revenue opportunities.
Promote and maintain professional contacts with airlines, suppliers, and contractors in order to stay abreast of industry developments.
Participate in the budgetary planning, monitoring and control for manpower and training resources to ensure that revenue target and costs are managed and maintained as per budget. Execute periodic audit for external billing and reconciliations, and ensure that all expenditure is fully justified and authorized Assist in the delivery of cost-effective services within agreed budget.
Monitor and control costs through continual review and adjustment of expenditure to meet fluctuations in demand to deliver savings against budget and forecasts.
Drive innovative solutions through team creativity and ensure a collaborative approach with other dnata business units.
Ensure learning outcomes and training records fulfil or exceed current and anticipated local, national and international regulatory audit requirements.
Benchmarking industry best practice and monitoring technical developments in airport systems and equipment are essential. Ensure that a robust assessment and evaluation process is established that is supported by recognized KPI to measure the effectiveness of training delivered. Establish a close working relationship with key stakeholders, specifically act as the single point of contact for all training and training related matters. Other stakeholders include Customer Airlines, the airport authority, and IATA.
Establish and maintain close liaison with senior management, recruitment, and HR to ensure staff are recruited, trained and developed to the most appropriate and industry leading standard Plan, develop, manage and implement a training strategy for the department which will:Ensure current and future business needs are satisfied.
Provide staff with learning and development opportunities to help them progress within the organization.
Align training with operational planning, budget, and recruitment to deliver a timely, well trained, and professional workforce.
Ensure customer airline requirements are satisfied against SLAs.
Ensure compliance with all workplace safety, security, and health policies and procedure
Requirements
Degree in Learning & Development or related discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience in training and curriculum development
Relevant experience in audit for aerospace, engineering or ground handling required
