Head of Data Analytics & Services

Purpose of the Role:

The Head of Data & Analytics will lead Zuellig’s enterprise Data Analytics and AI programs, enabling data-driven decision-making, predictive intelligence, and AI-powered automation across commercial, supply chain, digital health, and consumer engagement.

This role will oversee the development of scalable analytics platforms, while also driving the adoption of next-gen AI capabilities, including agentic AI systems, machine learning, and conversational AI, to create intelligent workflows and business value.

Expectations of the Role:

Management/Stakeholder Relationships

• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align analytics initiatives with business objectives and requests and work closely to achieve delivery of quality outputs.
• Supervise team performance, development, and task delegation.
• Partner with business leaders to identify and prioritize AI and analytics use cases that deliver tangible ROI.
• Embed a culture of data-driven thinking and responsible AI use across the organization.
• Build and manage a team of data scientists, data analysts, and BI analysts.
• Promote continuous learning, AI experimentation, and agile delivery practices.

Analytics and Operational Reporting Delivery

• Work with business teams to understand & define their key data needs to support analytics and operational delivery for clients.
• Work with Data Platform team to develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with industry practices and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee delivery models, methods, and practices for creation of data products and to ensure consistent application and use of data and analytics solutions.
• Establish and maintain trust in data assets by instituting governance mechanisms for data and algorithms used for analysis, analytical applications, and automated decision-making.
• Support with establishing the framework and operating model that enables effective data governance & management locally in the region.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define data governance roles and responsibilities and promote a culture of data stewardship and accountability.
• Supervise the data steward & business/data analyst activities, provide guidance/support.
• Establish and implement data quality standards, critical metrics, and processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across all systems and platforms.
• Report progress on data cleaning / data quality activities.
• Support regional and global MDM activities and outcome/critical metric delivery.
• Drive the automation and self-service approach for operational reporting.
• Provide data quality analysis of issues to stakeholders.
• Lead analytics projects and generate actionable insights through advanced analytics, data modeling, and segmentation. Your work will optimize business outcomes and drive critical initiatives.
• Drive data integrity and reporting quality.

Data Operations

• Ensure key data operation tasks are maintained to ensure business continuity.
• Collaborate with other teams to leverage capabilities and respond to organizational needs.

Data Analytics & AI Solution Delivery

• Prescriptive analytics using AI optimization.
• Lead implementation of agentic AI systems that can reason, plan, and act across digital workflows (e.g., automated brand performance monitoring).
• Champion conversational AI solutions to enhance customer engagement (e.g., AI-driven virtual reps, internal knowledge agents).
• Accelerate time-to-insight via ML pipelines, automated reporting, and AI solutions for internal teams.

Attributes Required:

Must-Have:

• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in BI, analytics, data analytics with at least 4 years in a management or leadership role.
• Experience working in a large, complex environment, with a range of stakeholders, across multiple business units.
• Background in data-related field: data analysis and visualization, data quality, data warehousing, data engineering, marketing, sales and operations, financial reporting.
• Strong affinity with, and interest in new trends in AI & Data (including Data Governance and quality).
• Expertise with relational databases, warehousing and lake-house technology - SQL Server, SAP HANA, Looker, PowerBI, Databricks, Snowflake, Google Cloud Storage, Google BigQuery and VertexAI.
• Extensive understanding of data management, including awareness of the security, privacy, ethics, and quality requirements for data, and data analysis techniques.
• Experience in logical and physical data model design and broader data architecture design.
• Prior development experience in some of SQL, R, Python for data processing, PowerBI, Looker.

• Experience within consulting / healthcare preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership with strong business acumen and emotional intelligence.
• Superb communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information optimally.
• Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field.
• Certification in relevant analytics tools or methodologies.
