Head of Corporate Development

The Role:

As a senior leader within the corporate development function, you will shape the organization’s long-term direction by identifying growth opportunities, analyzing industry trends, and providing strategic insights. You will collaborate closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure the company remains ahead of market developments.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Development:

1. Lead the creation and execution of corporate strategies that align with business objectives.
2. Conduct research and market assessments to identify risks, trends, and opportunities.
3. Guide leadership teams through strategy workshops and business planning exercises.

Market Research & Competitive Intelligence:

1. Oversee industry and market analysis, including customer insights and competitive positioning.
2. Monitor regulatory, technological, and economic shifts to inform decision-making.
3. Utilize data-driven insights to support business expansion and operational efficiency.

Execution of Strategic Projects:

1. Drive high-impact initiatives, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals.
2. Evaluate potential investments and assess their strategic fit.
3. Track and refine strategies to maximize performance and results.
4. Manage projects - such as M&As and JVs.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:

1. Partner with senior leadership to communicate insights and strategic recommendations.
2. Engage with key external stakeholders, including industry experts and partners.
3. Influence decision-making through data-backed presentations and reports.

What You Bring:

Education: MBA or equivalent advanced degree.

Experience: 10+ years in strategic planning, corporate research, finance, or business development within capital intensive industries is a must and experience within shipping will be held in high regard. Experience managing capital projects will be held in high regard.

Skills & Competencies:

1. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling capabilities.
2. Proficiency in strategy frameworks and business case development.
3. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
4. High adaptability and ability to work in fast-evolving market environments.
