Head of Communications, Asia-Pacific (ex-China)

Our client is a globally recognised industry association dedicated to advancing awareness, shaping policy, and delivering market insights for a vital and strategic asset. With a presence across the US, UK, India, China, and the Asia-Pacific region, they provide expert insights, policy leadership, and strategic engagement to a diverse range of stakeholders. They are seeking an experienced communications professional to lead their Asia-Pacific (ex-China) strategy, with a focus on Singapore, Japan, and Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all communications efforts in the Asia-Pacific (ex-China) region, ensuring alignment with global strategies.
  • Manage media relations and act as a key liaison with tier-one business and investment media.
  • Develop and execute integrated campaigns to enhance brand awareness and reputation.
  • Lead a high-impact spokesperson programme, supporting executives in positioning the organisation as an industry authority.
  • Collaborate with the global marketing and communications team to localise global initiatives effectively.
  • Drive thought leadership by amplifying proprietary research and insights to key audiences.
  • Engage with investors, institutions, and industry stakeholders to promote the organisation’s initiatives.
  • Oversee content development for social media and digital platforms, ensuring regional relevance and impact.
  • Support executive communications and CEO profiling in the region.
  • Measure and evaluate communications impact, using data-driven insights to refine strategies.

You Should Bring:

  • Significant (10 to 15 years) experience in communications, with a strong background in financial services.
  • Proven track record in media relations, with established relationships in tier-one financial and business media.
  • Expertise in developing multi-channel communications strategies, including social media and digital amplification.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with an ability to translate insights into compelling narratives.
  • Experience working in international and multi-cultural business environments.
  • Confident spokesperson coaching ability, with experience advising senior leaders.
  • Proficiency in leveraging data and analytics to measure and enhance communications effectiveness.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach with a passion for delivering impactful results.
