Job description

The Head, Leasing is responsible for leading the leasing strategy for the suburban malls of our retail portfolio, with a focus on maximizing occupancy rates, enhancing tenant mix, and driving revenue growth. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is critical in shaping the retail experience, fostering strong tenant relationships, and achieving the overall business objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive leasing strategy that aligns with business goals, targeting optimal tenant and trade mix for retail properties.
  • Maximize performance by driving revenue growth and achieving full occupancy through proactive lease management and strategic tenant acquisition.
  • Lead the preparation and execution of annual revenue budgets, ensuring financial targets are met across all managed retail assets.
  • Oversee and mentor the Leasing team, guiding all leasing activities, from sourcing innovative retail concepts and prospects to negotiating new leases and renewals aligned with malls’ positioning.
  • Analyse and assess tenant trading performance across properties, identifying trends and opportunities to enhance the trade mix and overall mall success.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with tenants and key retailers to promote enduring partnerships and drive retail success.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Real Estate Management.
  • At least 15 years of experience in retail mall leasing with a strong strategic business perspective.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in leading and managing a leasing team.
  • In-depth knowledge of the retail industry and current market trends.
  • Proven track record in retail leasing, supported by a well-established network of retailer contacts.
  • Exceptional analytical, presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, along with strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Highly driven, motivated by success, and able to perform effectively under high pressure.
  • Registered Salesperson with CEA preferred.
