Job description

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and taking guidance from the HQ Group CHRO, the Head will play a strong leadership role in supporting the Group’s business needs and fostering employee engagement. Evolving and scaling our people-related strategies, processes, and practices and driving flawless execution is critical to future success.

To drive strategic initiatives, while at the same time executing specific programs, policies and inquiries. The role will oversee all generalist HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation & benefits, performance management, development, union relations, payroll management and employee engagement.

Job Descriptions

Strategic HR Leadership & Culture

  • Establish and implement HR strategies, plans, and programs that effectively communicate and support the company’s mission, vision, and core values.
  • Drive core values within the company and be the culture ambassador for the employer brand.
  • Promote employee engagement activities such as employee engagement survey action plans, quarterly town hall meetings, and employee recognition events.
  • Identify areas of strategic and tactical improvements in HR processes and systems and implement new technology platforms to improve HR efficiency and effectiveness.

Performance Management

  • Manage the Annual Performance Review process, provide guidance to leaders, and ensure all activities are completed within the timeline.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and training to business units on managing performance at all levels.

Change Management

  • Lead change management or restructuring programs including acquisitions and integration activities.
  • Own and drive HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Deliver Effective HR Services and Support

  • Build relationships with the business units at all levels and provide consistent and prompt HR services.
  • Ensure HR initiatives or processes are communicated within an appropriate timeframe and to a desired level of service.
  • Provide employee relations guidance and support across all aspects of HR policy and practice (e.g., performance management, grievance, disciplinary, etc.).
  • Support the development and implementation of people policies and procedures; coaching managers in using these to support the high performance of teams and individuals.
  • Supervise the full payroll function.
  • Manage union relationships and negotiations.
  • Manage the admin team and related matters at HQ office.

Talent Management

  • Hire the best talent for the business with an understanding of open requisitions and future anticipated needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the business leaders and rewards team to ensure key talents are consistently engaged; recommend appropriate retention strategies for critical resources.
  • Lead talent review and succession planning efforts.

HR Team Leadership

  • Coach, mentor, and develop the HR team to ensure ongoing high performance.
  • Be a role model for leadership and management excellence.

Admin Support Team

  • Lead the HQ office and admin team to support reception services and office functions.

Job Requirement:

  • Experience in leading large scale manpower deployment.
  • Work with senior leadership to formulate strategic HR plans to support various business units.
  • Experience in engaging senior-level representatives from clients.
  • Plan, implement, and deliver HR solutions to fulfill contractual obligations.
  • Ability to analyze trends and directions.
  • Experience in delivering management reports and administering key client/management meetings.
  • Initiative, drive, and analytical ability.
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills, highly competent in PowerPoint and slide content creation.
