  • Work with management to establish pricing strategies and control expenses.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with food suppliers and vendors to source the best ingredients at the best prices.
  • Oversee ordering and stock management to ensure freshness and avoid over-ordering.

Customer Experience & Brand Engagement

  • Elevate the guest dining experience with meticulous attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
  • Engage with customers to share the story behind the cuisine and create a memorable connection.
  • Address special requests, compliments, and feedback with professionalism and a customer-first mindset.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Inspire, mentor, and lead a high-performing kitchen team.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture built on respect, excellence, and passion.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, training, and mentorship to support career growth within the team.

Beyond the Kitchen

  • Represent the brand at external catering events, ensuring top-tier service and execution.
  • Collaborate with management to align kitchen operations with broader business goals.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the evolving needs of the business.

What You Bring to the Table

  • A Culinary Arts degree or equivalent experience in a Japanese restaurant.
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, ideally in Japanese cuisine.
  • Deep expertise in Japanese culinary techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and manage a dynamic team.
  • A strategic mindset with a strong grasp of cost control, budgeting, and inventory management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in presentation, consistency, and quality.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with customers and team members effectively.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as needed.
  • Proficiency in Japanese is a plus, but not required.
