Head Chef Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Head Chef to oversee the food preparation process and manage kitchen staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, be able to plan menus and orders, and ensure compliance with nutrition and sanitation regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Menu Planning: Create menus that showcase new culinary creations while maintaining variety and quality of servings.
  • Chef Management: Hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and support.
  • Inventory Management: Plan and execute inventory management, including ordering equipment and ingredients.
  • Quality Control: Inspect dishes before serving to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Staff Supervision: Oversee the work of subordinates, estimating their workload and compensations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of payroll and attendance.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Culinary Expertise: Proven experience as Head Chef with exceptional ability in kitchen management.
  • Leadership: Outstanding communication and leadership skills to motivate and direct team members.
  • Computer Literacy: Familiarity with MS Office and restaurant management software.
  • Certifications: Credentials in health and safety training.

Salary:

$80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
