Head Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Carpenter to lead our carpentry team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for project planning, material costing, design sketching, site measurements, fabrication, and installation. Additionally, the Head Carpenter will play a key role in training and mentoring new staff, ensuring quality craftsmanship, and maintaining workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently calculate and estimate material costs for carpentry projects.
• Create and interpret sketches, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Conduct accurate on-site measurements to ensure project precision.
• Fabricate carpentry works including but not limited to cabinetry, furniture, doors, and frameworks.
• Lead and oversee the installation of carpentry works at project sites.
• Train and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices in best practices and safety procedures.
• Ensure all projects adhere to quality standards and specifications.
• Maintain and manage tools, equipment, and materials efficiently.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and project managers to ensure project success.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience as a Head Carpenter or Senior Carpenter.
• Strong ability to estimate material costs accurately.
• Proficient in reading and creating technical sketches and drawings.
• Excellent knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
• Ability to lead and train a team effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Physical stamina and ability to work on-site in various conditions.
