Role Accountabilities & Responsibilities- Stay informed about existing and evolving government policies, laws, regulations, and other applicable Health & Safety obligations within the region.
- Conduct independent audits across relevant operations in the region.
- Establish and maintain credibility with senior leaders, providing fact/evidence-based insights on compliance and conformance.
- Build trust with stakeholders at all levels, creating an engagement-friendly environment.
- Demonstrate technical competence in understanding operations, processes, systems, and associated risks.
- Exhibit disciplined flexibility and a proactive perspective in audit planning and execution.
- Effectively intervene during periods of crisis with situational awareness and adaptability.
- Display sensitivity and empathy in decision-making and communications.
- Apply creative problem-solving skills to address and remedy current and future situations.
- Validate the effective application of Health & Safety controls and control frameworks.
- Assess preventative, detective, and corrective controls, ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Performance Standards.
- Leverage data and digital systems/platforms to enhance decision-making and problem-solving.
- Address technological advancements, such as automation, relevant to the role's tasks and duties.
- Uphold the organization's values and One K-C Behaviors, exemplifying ethical leadership.
- Provide requisite guidance and assistance to Supply Chain leaders for compliance with government policies, laws, regulations, and EHS obligations.
- Ensure conformance with K-C Performance Standards.
- Deploy, operate, manage, and optimize the Global Health & Safety auditing process in the region.
- Drive compliance/conformance and support continuous improvement of Health & Safety performance/program maturity.
- Manage activities related to risk-based audit planning/scoping, audit team selection/qualification, training/onboarding, and coordination.
- Deliver audit reports with clear descriptions of performance gaps/findings and recommend actions with remedies.
- Communicate/escalate critical audit findings and associated corrective action plans.
- Provide routine corrective action status updates and timely communication/escalation of site delays in resolving/addressing audit findings.
- Consolidate/provide audit data/metrics required for regional and enterprise reporting.
- Make recommendations to leadership on complex matters related to crisis/risk management and compliance assurance.
- Use digital systems/platforms to monitor existing preventive, detective, and corrective EHS controls at operating sites.
- Ensure effective functioning or require correction as needed to manage relevant EHS risks to an acceptable level.
- Foster relationships with external partners and groups, including local auditing resources, governmental agencies, NGOs, industry groups, and scientific organizations.
- Stay abreast of relevant OH&S policy and regulatory developments and align with best practices in risk and compliance management.
- Partner with relevant Global OH&S colleagues, HR, and other functional experts to develop, deliver, and maintain Health & Safety compliance, conformance, and controls curriculum.
- Build requisite skills, capabilities, and capacity at operations throughout the region.

Essential RequirementsIn one of our professional roles, you’ll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Policy or related field
- At least 7 years of experience working in related roles requiring EHS regulatory, risk and crisis management along with incident investigation expertise.
- At least 5 years of experience developing/deploying, efficient and effective audit management processes, preferably across multiple operating locations within or across geographic regions.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable, pending, and evolving OH&S and E&S legal requirements in relevant jurisdictions (international/regional, national, local) pertaining to occupational health/safety, ergonomics, fire safety, environment protection and sustainability.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex legal or internal requirements to all levels, providing guidance to leaders in Supply Chain and collaborating on these topics with other relevant business functions (e.g., Risk Management, Legal, Research & Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Government Relations and Compliance & Ethics).
- Effective storytelling skills that inspire followership across the organization.
- Ability to communicate across multiple layers of the organization, including senior leaders.
- Strong project management and global program execution experience.
- Experienced in deploying control frameworks (e.g., Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO)) for OH&S applications.
- Strong digital capabilities (e.g., data management, analytics, workflow management).
- (Preferred) ISO45001 lead auditor qualification (or equivalent)
- (Preferred) Fluency in one or more languages of the geographic subregion
