ABOUT THE POSITION

The Group Head, Accounting and FP&A is a key strategic role within the organization, responsible for leading the group’s accounting and financial planning & analysis functions. This position will oversee the planning, budgeting, implementation, management, and control of all financial-related activities, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.


The incumbent will have day-to-day oversight of accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and business partnering with the executive management team. Additionally, the role will involve negotiations with both internal and external auditors. The Group Head is also expected to lead the development of group accounting policies and the budgeting and planning processes while providing leadership and guidance to the country finance teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting and Control:

  • Lead the full spectrum of finance for the Group, ensuring financial reporting and corporate governance within the finance framework.
  • Direct the preparation of the Group's periodic and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable local accounting standards.
  • Oversee and manage the group’s financial accounts and audits for all group companies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and investor financial reporting requirements.
  • Co-manage internal control audits and compliance across the group.
  • Establish and maintain robust financial governance across the Group, ensuring all business units adhere to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Implement and improve financial controls in line with shareholder expectations and industry best practices.
  • Identify evolving business needs and drive continuous improvement in finance processes, accounting frameworks, and systems.
  • Oversee the standardization, formulation, and documentation of Group accounting policies, financial process flows, procedures, and systems.
  • Represent finance in restructuring or M&A transactions, ensuring smooth integration and financial due diligence.
  • Oversee finance operations to ensure proper controls and timely delivery of information, services, and payments.
  • Lead talent management for all country finance teams, including coaching, hiring, training, mentoring, and overall development of finance teams across the Group.
  • Serve as the systems owner for Navision BC, Anaplan Consolidation, FP&A, and Asset Register modules.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

  • Lead and manage the annual budgeting, forecasting, 3-year strategic planning, and business strategic analysis processes across the group.
  • Deliver high-quality, insightful, and actionable financial analysis of monthly results for business managers and the Executive Management Team.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support quarterly Board of Directors meetings.
  • Define, manage, and continuously improve FP&A processes and outputs, covering P&L, working capital, and cash flow.
  • Provide leadership and clear direction to country finance teams on forecasting and analysis expectations.
  • Ensure the finance team’s effectiveness and continued skill development in business analysis.
  • Implement regular working capital reviews with regional finance teams, documenting and following up on actions to improve working capital metrics.
  • Lead and coach regional and country finance teams in developing commercial acumen with an externally focused perspective, contributing to operational improvements and growth.
  • Develop partnerships with internal stakeholders, including C-suite executives and country finance teams.
  • Establish robust business and financial planning processes, strategic frameworks, and budgeting practices to drive critical financial decisions.
  • Become an expert on Vena’s business and financial drivers.
  • Oversee talent management for country FP&A teams, including coaching, hiring, training, mentoring, and development across the Group.

EDUCATION

  • CPA or CA qualifications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in a senior finance role, ideally as a Finance Director.

SKILLS

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to the highest standards of accuracy and precision.
  • Recognized accounting professional qualifications from Singapore or international accounting bodies.
  • Highly organized and articulate with strong communication skills.
  • Creative thinker who is highly driven and self-motivated.
  • Strong business partnering skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work hands-on with team members and manage in a collaborative, leadership capacity.
