Job description
Position: Group Financial Controller

Location: CHINATOWN
Reporting To: Board of Directors
Industry: Distribution, F&B, Insurtech

Job Summary:

The Group Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial management, reporting, and strategic planning of the entire group of companies. This role ensures financial integrity, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of best financial practices. The position involves managing financial risks, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, and internal controls to support business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management & Reporting
  • Oversee the financial operations of the group, including subsidiaries.
  • Prepare and present consolidated financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital management.
  • Provide financial insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Develop and implement financial models for business planning.
  • Analyze variances and provide insights on financial performance.
3. Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate governance and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Conduct financial risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
4. Financial Strategy & Business Growth Support
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and investment decisions.
  • Provide financial analysis for expansion, cost optimization, and profitability improvement.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies to support business objectives.
5. Leadership & Team Management
  • Manage and mentor the finance team across the group.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and high performance.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and tax regulations.
  • Experience in financial consolidation for multi-entity businesses.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and financial software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
