Job description

Lead and manage the Global Sales Customer Excellence team, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

Your Role

Coordination, monitoring and guidance of assigned Customer Excellence team supporting key account managers along tender management cycle to maintain and extend Kuehne + Nagel's share of wallet.

Your Responsibilities

Team lead key activities:

  • Professional Customer Excellence team leadership for solid line employees.
  • Team management: administrative tasks execution (holiday's management, employee performance reviews, etc).
  • Overall Tender Management strategy definition support, continuous development of work processes and establishment of a sustainable organizational structure.
  • Deployment of Tender Management strategies within respective hemisphere perimeter.
  • Pipeline planning (capacity) & alignment with respective stakeholders.
  • Tender Management performance review (as per defined KPIs) with direct / indirect stakeholders.
  • Deployment of improvement action plans.
  • Best Practice sharing.

Tender Management key activities:

  • Support with RFI response preparation.
  • Support with tender management process in close collaboration with Key Account Manager, main focus on the following activities:
    - Analysis of tender requirements and definition of strategy.
    - Alignment and synchronization of customer requirements with respective pricing teams to ensure full tender compliance execution of tariff structure, conduct sanity checks against customer requirements to ensure completeness, correctness and commercial plausibility and if required, to initiate corrective actions.
    - Preparation of tender response including creation of value proposition.
    - Conduction of post-mortem process (external and internal) in close collaboration with Key Account Manager.
  • Support Key Account Manager with handover to implementation activities, main focus on commercial tasks as per Implementation Methodology / RACI in place.

KAM support key activities:

  • Spot quote coordination (pricing request receipt, liaison with pricing teams, commercial offer submission).
  • Rate card maintenance coordination (liaison with pricing teams, rate card update completion, submission of updated rate card).
  • Business Review preparation (people & task coordination, material preparation).
  • Customer setup maintenance (former housekeeping).

Your Skills and Experiences

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's or First University Degree in Business Administration, Economics, SCM/Logistics, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years in Pricing, Tender Management, or Excellence Management.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / 365, with a focus on advanced presentation skills (PowerPoint) and medium-advanced Excel.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Consultative Selling.
  • Process mapping or Re-Engineering qualification (e.g., Six Sigma, SCOR).
