Job SummaryThe Global Head of Facilities Management and Services is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the facilities management, engineering and corporate services strategy across all global locations, inclusive of portfolio in office, branch, residential and data centres. This role involves strategic planning, leadership, and execution of facilities management and corporate services initiatives to ensure efficient, safe, and sustainable working environments that align with the company’s business objectives. This role oversees the functional leads for Health & Safety, Corporate Security, Facilities Management, Engineering, Corporate Services and Sustainability, and will be based in Singapore.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy- Develop and implement the global facilities management strategy, aligning with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
- Lead and inspire a global team of facilities management professionals to drive operational excellence and innovation.
- Awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role.
- Accountable for alignment and integration of relevant activities across the verticals with wider Bank and/or CRES initiatives, strategies or projects, and vice-versa.
- The Bank has publicly committed to net zero by 2030 and Property have elevated Sustainability as Property’s fourth strategic pillar. This role is responsible for the leadership of the pillar and the strategy which underpins the realisation of the net zero outcomes.
Business- Accountable for the daily operations of the facilities management and services function, including the development of global policies, processes, standards and procedures, the management and delivery of projects, and the development and implementation of systems and processes to assure compliance to local regulations.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of c1,300 facilities across all 52 markets, including maintenance, security and health & safety.
- Financial Management - Develop and manage the facilities budget, including capital and operational expenditures. Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiency improvements without compromising quality or safety.
- Supply Partner Management - Negotiate and manage contracts with third-party service providers, including janitorial, maintenance, and security services in partnership with Head of Supply Partner Management. Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure service levels and contractual obligations are met.
- Sustainability and Innovation: Promote and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the company’s environmental footprint and enhance energy efficiency. Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to drive continuous improvement and innovation in facilities management.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for senior management and other key stakeholders regarding facilities-related matters. Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis management plans related to facilities, including emergency response and business continuity planning. Ensure robust risk management practices are in place to mitigate potential disruptions.
- Data and Metrics. Accountable for the development, coordination, and maintenance of relevant reporting (internal & external) that enables proactive risk monitoring with anticipatory reports across Facilities Management and Services including contribution to the corporate plan in space optimisation and design.
Processes- Accountable for the development, implementation and maintenance of S&S policy, standards and processes for the Group as Policy Owner.
- Accountable for assurance of the delivery and implementation of global policies and procedures for facilities management and services.
- Assisting direct & indirect reports, other Property functions and countries with policy, process, standard implementation and compliance with legal requirements. Assist regions and countries in translating and implementing facilities management and services policies and standards by providing specialist support.
People & Talent- Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations for Facilities Management and Services teams and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
- Consult on global team structure/capacity plans to ensure that is meeting client demands.
Risk Management- Responsible and accountable for ensuring that processes are implemented for identifying relevant risks in the Bank’s facilities, and identified risks are appropriately managed through the Bank’s risk management framework.
- Ensure the effective application of the risk assurance framework to evidence that existing Facilities Management governance and risk control processes are effectively implemented and are being adhered to across the Group.
- Monitor the facilities management related risks faced by the Group globally and take pro-active measures to reduce risk, minimise loss and communicate incidents to senior management and provide them with professional advice on all aspects of related risks.
- Influence the risk management culture of the CRES team and broader bank.
- Ensure the Board Risk and/or Audit Committee and Property leadership are appraised and advised appropriately on significant facilities management risks and performance, especially related to Health and Safety and Security.
- Risk Framework Owner for Safety & Security risk subtype.
Governance- Accountable for the assurance of Group policies, processes, standards, procedures, and guidelines for facilities management are being implemented globally.
- Accountable for monitoring the effectiveness of policy, processes, and standards, including seeking feedback from regional and country stakeholders, and take necessary action when required.
- Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
Regulatory & Business Conduct- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key stakeholders- Group: Property, Resilience (Crisis, BCP), ITO, Cyber Security, Legal, Compliance, Audit, OR, HR, CEO, CFO, CIO, CPBB, SCM, CABM, Group OR, CSO and Sustainability, and other stakeholders as required.
- Regions: CRES, BCP, CEO, CFO, CIO, COO.
- External: Regulators, Embassy staff/officials, law enforcement, sustainability and environmental agencies, peer organisations.

Skills And Experience- The successful candidate will be an Facility Management and/or Corporate Services expert, comfortable with devising, shaping and rolling out Sustainability, Services, Health, Safety and Environment Policy Compliance.
- The desired candidate will have strong Premises Management leadership experience across global markets and portfolio types, with the ability to influence effectively through strong communication and lead by example.
