As the Director, Global Facilities Construction at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be partnering with Regional and Site Construction Directors across different geographies (USA, South Asia, North Asia) to deliver multi-billion annual construction projects critical to Micron’s continuous growth.

You will be leading the Global Construction organization and will be responsible for developing global construction roadmap and strategy, optimizing construction management processes and controls to ensure projects are successfully and safely delivered on time and within budget. This includes managing change and assessing the operational and financial risks for proposed construction project plans and processes for engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project management tasks.

You will report to Micron’s Vice President of Global Facilities & Construction and collaborate with global and regional departments from Facilities and Constructions, Planning, Finance, Procurement, and Manufacturing groups in both Front-End and Assembly & Test groups, and team members across the company at all levels of the organization (including C-level) to help optimize Micron’s construction performance.

The ideal candidate will have an established track record of deep expertise in construction management, a strong ability to drive best-in-class practices, and the capability to collaborate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders in a dynamic, iterative environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects across multiple regions, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Establish and maintain best-in-class construction practices, focusing on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Drive construction cost management initiatives and ensure financial accountability in all construction activities.
  • Lead efforts with close collaboration with Indirect Construction Procurement to enhance optimum construction procurement strategies.
  • Oversee commissioning processes to ensure facilities are operational and meet all performance criteria before handover.
  • Implement comprehensive risk management practices to identify, mitigate, and manage construction risks effectively.
  • Collaborate with other leaders and teams inside and outside Global, Regional and Site Facilities, Global EHSS, Global Procurement, Corporate Finance as well as external industry agencies and consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, business conduct, and ethics policies.
  • Identify risks and adverse influences that can impact the outcome of a project to develop realistic delivery plans and ensure that goals are met.
  • Good stakeholder management and interfacing skills.
  • Invest time in coaching and mentoring people and help team members learn and grow.

Skills / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in a Construction, Building, Project Management, Engineering or Architecture related field.
  • Professional certifications in construction management (e.g., PMP, CCM) or equivalent.
  • Experience in construction project management in EPCM projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
  • Ability to integrate and work in a global multicultural team.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel on a regular basis.
  • Able to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Cost and Schedule management experience.
  • Good analytical and organizational abilities required to ensure effective management and decision making.

Minimum Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 15 years working experience, including 10 years in construction and a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role as a Director.
  • Demonstrable experience in the management of multi-disciplined semiconductor projects and/or other relevant industries is strongly preferred.
  • Practiced in project control mechanisms and with commercial and technical risk assessments.
  • Outstanding organization, coordination, and leadership skills – ability to coordinate and motivate groups of Consultants / Contractors.
