This role is with MSIM Emerging Leaders fund. The fund is a highly active and concentrated strategy focused on public market equities in emerging markets.

Primary Responsibilities


  1. This is a generalist role and coverage extends across multiple markets and sectors within Emerging markets.
  2. Actively track respective geographies and generate new ideas within the frameworks of fund philosophy.
  3. Expected to travel extensively to do on-ground diligence; build ground connects and produce differentiated insights on the coverage.
  4. Responsible for leading company management meetings, maintaining financials/valuation models and composing detailed investment thesis.
  5. The analyst should eventually have the potential to become a portfolio manager and be keen to learn portfolio construction and risks.

Skills Required (Essential)


  1. Keen learner and ability to scale up on multiple businesses/sectors.
  2. Strong bottom-up research skills which include understanding of key fundamental business drivers and translating them to valuations.
  3. 5+ years of experience in tracking equities either on sell-side or buy-side. Strong academic and professional track record.
  4. Proficiency in Mandarin would be an added advantage as the role will support Asian markets.
