We’re seeking someone to join our Global eDiscovery and Investigations group as a Case Management/eDiscovery operation manager in Cyber. The group is responsible for managing requests for electronic data and digital forensic investigations that relate to Litigation, Regulatory matters, Compliance, Employee Investigations as well as Incident Response and Cyber Security events. The team ensures that requests are adequately formed, tracked, and responded to in an efficient and accurate manner. eDiscovery Operations Team

The team will perform electronic data discovery/collection work that includes, but is not limited to, collecting and analyzing data from electronic data sources such as email archives, infrastructure logs, and network file servers. The data will be provided to clients both internal and external to the Firm. Communicating complex technical matters and extensive interaction is required with colleagues both internal and external to IT including Legal, Corporate Security, Human Resources, IT Security, Engineering teams, and other Business groups. Candidates must be well organized, have strong communication and time management skills, as well as being detail-oriented and analytical. They must demonstrate initiative, good judgement, be confident working independently, and be comfortable handling sensitive, confidential information.


What you'll do in the role:

  1. Lead and manage the Asia eDiscovery operations team which is part of the silo within the ISIMI department (Information Security Incident Management and Investigations department within CDRR).
  2. Perform eDiscovery collection and analysis of data collected if required, and communicate status updates for various stakeholders.
  3. Responsible for the management of the Regional GEDI eDiscovery operational queues, including monitoring, allocation of work, and hands-on execution of eDiscovery processing queue to ensure efficient delivery of service to stakeholders.
  4. Identify and designate eDiscovery case lead specialist on large and/or complex matters in order to coordinate collection efforts, partnering with eDiscovery collections specialists.
  5. Act as eDiscovery case lead to communicate expectations to stakeholders on sensitive or complex matters.
  6. Supervise eDiscovery case lead/collection specialist's work products to ensure quality of deliverables.
  7. Identify potential issues that may arise in eDiscovery matters and work with key stakeholders to address.
  8. Provide sign off and act as primary escalation for eDiscovery related issues.
  9. Leverage eDiscovery expertise to engage Legal partners in order to shape effective and cost savings collections requests.
  10. Train and mentor staff on eDiscovery processes to ensure adherence to procedures and any emerging technologies to support data collections.
  11. Create eDiscovery reporting to identify trends and highlight any resourcing requirements.

Qualifications

What you'll bring to the role:

  1. Experience in effectively executing IT strategy, delivery, and complex initiatives.
  2. Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to technology and business leadership.
  3. Advanced understanding of functional area and competent understanding of competitive environment.
  4. At least 8 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
  5. Robust knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) framework and standards, including implication of international data collection.
  6. Comprehensive knowledge of data retrieval from message archive systems or data repositories, including formulation and troubleshooting of complex data collection criteria.
  7. Technical knowledge with basic use of Windows and Unix command and strong Microsoft Excel reporting.
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to articulate technical information in a concise manner to non-technical audiences.
  9. Experience with handling sensitive and confidential information.
  10. Strong organizational skills - with good time management, ability to handle multiple priorities, detail-oriented and prioritize works with good judgement.
  11. High level of work ethic - demonstrated by following policies and procedures, making good judgement and escalating issues promptly.
  12. Flexible with work hours - on-call and weekend coverage required.
  13. In-depth knowledge of technology risk and security, and infrastructure knowledge within the Financial Industry.
  14. Knowledge of messaging systems and Cloud environment is a plus.
  15. Experience working in regulatory, compliance and/or litigation group within the Financial Industry.
  16. Experience in working with people in different regions and time zones.
  17. Industry certifications are an advantage but not required.
