Operations span all product lines and markets, serving as internal business partners who develop the processes and controls, and help to specify the systems that deliver accuracy, timeliness and integrity to our business.

The Global Banking & Markets Division (Equity Derivative & Structuring Operations) is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate transaction processing across a broad range of products. Generally, the products supported are complex instruments that require close alignment with the business. A key focus for the organization is establishing strong risk management procedures and controls to ensure the firm and our clients are properly protected. The Global Banking & Markets Division is at the forefront of shaping and driving change in the industry with the ultimate aim of delivering greater accuracy, control and efficiency for our clients and our businesses.

The Derivatives Confirmations team is primarily responsible for obtaining legal confirmations on OTC (over the counter) trades booked for the Derivatives businesses. This involves the daily monitoring of outstanding trades covering a wide range of EQD businesses and products, including trades executed by the GS Volatility and Synthetics Product Group (SPG) desks. As an Analyst within the Derivatives Confirmations team, you will have client interaction and involvement with other internal teams such as Sales and Trading, Settlements, Account Opening and other Operations teams. Critical responsibilities to be performed are listed below:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To mitigate Economic Affirmation risk in Equities, ensuring trade details are affirmed with the client by T+3.
  • Mitigate the risk of any key economic differences between both GS and Client’s bookings.
  • Review, reconcile and draft Legal ISDA confirmations for Derivatives and Synthetic products.
  • Follow up with clients to execute the Legal Confirmations issued by GS.
  • Ensure discrepancy resolution for any disputes raised by the clients on our confirmations in a timely manner.
  • Review trades alleged by clients on an electronic platform or via emails.
  • Ensure trades are electronically confirmed within T+2.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies raised by clients on our confirmations.
  • Review incoming counterparty documents and work with the counterparties to agree on the confirmation templates to be executed.
  • Highlight all discrepancies raised by clients promptly and work with Trading and Sales to ensure the trade has been accurately booked.
  • Follow up with clients on execution of Legal confirmation and electronic matching of trades.
  • Ensure risk is mitigated for trades categorized as critical and high priority.
  • Highlight breaks on electronic workflow on Trade Date.
  • Ensure confirmation execution timelines are adhered to.
  • Review and send EOD reports to senior management.
  • Escalate outstanding trades in Critical category risk to senior management.
  • Work with various internal stakeholders to facilitate functions/systems and enhancements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of experience in an Equity Derivative, Commodity or Foreign Exchange documentation team or product area, including structured transactions.
  • Exhibits excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Displays ability to meet multiple deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Contributes to the effectiveness of the team by working closely with colleagues in sharing information, skills, and responsibilities.
  • Takes actions to ensure that controls are in place and procedures are followed.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills that facilitate strong execution with Sales, Trading, Legal and structuring teams.
  • Skilled at gathering and analyzing quantitative data to guide decision-making.
