Position Summary

The HR Generalist is responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, providing comprehensive support to employees and managers, and contributing to the overall success of the HR function. This role serves as a trusted advisor to business units and departments, offering expertise in HR policies, programs, and initiatives while utilizing data analytics to inform decision-making and drive ongoing improvements in HR practices. As an HR Generalist, you will also play a key role in delivering HR support and guidance to plant teams. By building strong relationships with leaders and employees, you will help ensure effective people management, foster a positive work environment, and continuous improvement within the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Partner and support hiring managers in the recruitment process, including interviews and selection.
  • Handle onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, providing support in accordance with company policies and relevant legislation.
  • Provide guidance on industrial relations, employee grievances, conduct, and disciplinary matters, maintaining adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Handle employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and investigations, ensuring fair and compliant resolutions.
  • Plan and organize company events, including wellness and welfare activities to promote a positive work culture and providing support on culture champion initiatives as needed.
  • Ensure effective dissemination of HR-related information across the organization.
  • Review and update HR policies and handbooks regularly to ensure alignment with best practices and compliance.
  • Support and work with HR manager on annual budgeting process to prepare budget proposals, including allocations for compensation, benefits, training, recruitment, and other HR activities.
  • Support & Lead HR projects and initiatives, including process improvement and system enhancements.
  • Serve as the primary contact for HRIS-related matters, ensuring effective system use to support HR operations.
  • Maintain and optimize SAP SuccessFactors and Prosoft to ensure data accuracy and system efficiency.
  • Compile, analyze, and report HR metrics such as turnover rates, headcount, and employee engagement statistics.
  • Interpret data insights to identify improvement areas and develop data-driven HR strategies that drive business outcomes.
  • Ensure the timely submission of statutory surveys and compliance reports.
  • Facilitate and participate in regular union-management meetings to address ongoing concerns, provide updates, and discuss changes.
  • Collaborate closely with union representatives to resolve workforce issues in a cooperative and constructive manner.
  • Support the HR Manager, acting as a liaison between the organization and the union to ensure timely resolution of issues or concerns.
  • Manage and address employee grievances raised through union channels by conducting thorough investigations and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to resolve the issues.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management and/or Human Resource Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in HR generalist or business partner roles, with exposure to HR operations and strategic HR practices.
  • Experience in a plant or manufacturing setting, with a good understanding of its dynamics and challenges, along with handling foreign employees.
  • Strong knowledge of local labor laws and statutory requirements.
  • Proficiency in HR systems such as SAP SuccessFactors and Prosoft.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret HR metrics and recommend actionable solutions.
  • A team player with good interpersonal, problem-solving, and process-thinking skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple and sometimes competing priorities with a positive attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and agile, with a desire to take on new challenges.
  • Meticulous approach to problem-solving and implementation of HR practices.
