Job description

The General Manager for Spindle Repair will oversee and manage the daily operations of the spindle repair division. This individual will lead the repair processes, optimize productivity, ensure high-quality standards, and drive operational efficiency. The GM will also be responsible for financial management, customer satisfaction, staff leadership, and continuous improvement within the spindle repair services.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operational Management: Oversee the spindle repair process from intake to completion, ensuring efficient workflows, high-quality repairs, and on-time delivery.
    Develop and implement operational procedures and best practices to improve repair quality, reduce lead times, and optimize costs.
    Ensure equipment, tools, and machinery are properly maintained and operating efficiently to support spindle repairs.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of repair technicians, engineers, and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
    Ensure that all employees are properly trained, skilled, and updated on the latest spindle repair technologies and techniques.
    Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide ongoing training, and mentor team members to promote professional growth.
  3. Quality Control: Maintain and enforce strict quality control standards to ensure all spindle repairs meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.
    Implement robust inspection protocols to identify issues early in the repair process and prevent rework or delays.
    Manage customer feedback to continuously improve the repair process and resolve any quality-related concerns promptly.
  4. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction with spindle repair services.
    Address customer inquiries, complaints, or issues efficiently and professionally.
    Develop customized solutions for complex or specialized spindle repair requirements.
  5. Financial Management: Develop and manage the division’s budget, ensuring cost control, profitability, and adherence to financial targets.
    Analyze financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to improve profitability and reduce overheads.
    Track and manage repair job costs, inventory, and material usage to optimize the repair operation’s financial performance.
  6. Process Improvement and Innovation: Continuously evaluate and improve spindle repair processes to enhance efficiency, reduce turnaround time, and improve repair quality.
    Research and implement the latest technological advancements in spindle repair to keep the division competitive and up-to-date.
    Ensure that the team adheres to the best practices in health and safety, environmental standards, and industry regulations.
  7. Business Development and Growth: Develop and implement strategies to expand the spindle repair division’s customer base, market share, and service offerings.
    Work closely with the sales team to generate new business, attend industry events, and maintain a positive reputation within the industry.
    Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to ensure the business stays competitive and grows in line with market demands.
  8. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies related to spindle repair operations.
    Prepare and present regular operational and financial reports to senior management, providing insights on performance, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in spindle repair or similar mechanical repair services, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
    Experience in managing budgets, teams, and operational processes within a manufacturing or mechanical repair environment.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
    In-depth knowledge of spindle repair processes, equipment, and troubleshooting.
    Ability to analyze and improve operational processes.
    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
    Relevant certifications or training in mechanical repair, machining, or similar fields a plus.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented approach.
    Proven ability to manage complex repair projects and meet deadlines.
    Ability to adapt to changing technologies and customer demands.
