Job Title: General Manager, Manufacturing & Supply Chain

Job Overview We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven General Manager to oversee the full spectrum of operations within our printing and supply chain management business. The General Manager will lead the manufacturing operations, warehousing and logistics, quality assurance, engineering, facilities management, procurement, and business process improvement. The role will encompass managing all forms of printing, including both print-on-demand and offset printing, as well as ensuring the integration of automated warehousing and supply chain systems for optimized order fulfilment and inventory management. Additionally, the General Manager will have responsibility for driving sustainability initiatives across all operational functions.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Operations & Production Management Oversee all manufacturing processes, including print-on-demand and offset printing, ensuring efficient production and order fulfilment.
Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve operational productivity.
Ensure equipment, printing machinery, and automation systems are well-maintained and operating at peak performance.
Monitor KPIs, including production output, turnaround time, defect rates, and sustainability metrics, driving continuous improvements.
Automated Warehousing & Supply Chain Management Oversee the integration and optimization of automated warehousing systems, including robotics and inventory management software, to ensure real-time inventory tracking and synchronization with production and order fulfilment.
Ensure seamless coordination between warehousing, production, and shipping functions to optimize efficiency and delivery timelines.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, logistics providers, and shipping carriers to optimize costs, delivery times, and service quality.
Sustainability Lead the development and implementation of sustainability strategies across manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and other operations to align with the company’s environmental and sustainable procurement goals.
Ensure adherence to sustainable practices, including reducing energy consumption, waste, and carbon emissions, while promoting eco-friendly initiatives.
Work closely with the relevant teams to track sustainability performance, set goals, and report on progress towards achieving sustainability targets.
Drive innovation in sustainable practices, exploring new technologies and methods to minimize environmental impact.
Quality Assurance & Compliance Ensure all production processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
Implement quality control measures to minimize defects, returns, and production errors.
Drive continuous improvement, utilizing customer feedback and data to enhance operational performance.
Engineering & Facilities Management Oversee engineering operations and facilities management, ensuring efficient and cost-effective running of production and warehousing environments.
Procurement & Business Process Improvement Oversee the procurement processes, ensuring that the team is sourcing materials in a timely and cost-effective manner to support operations.
Oversee business process improvements ensuring that the initiatives identified and implemented achieves optimization and cost reduction across the whole of operations.
Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of managers from various functions.
Foster a performance-driven culture by setting clear goals, conducting performance reviews, and promoting employee development.
Ensure staff are trained and upskilled in automation technologies, operational efficiency, and quality assurance practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience in managing manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role, ideally with experience in automated warehousing and supply management.
Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Proven track record in cost reduction, operational efficiency, and driving automation initiatives.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
