Job description
Responsibilities
Leadership: Leads the Design team for India and supports other geographies in setting up new schools. Leads all aspects of the project including design, construction, timelines, capital expenditure in order to deliver globally best in class school infrastructure.
Financial:
Manage and optimize school designs within specified budgets while maintaining quality standards.
Ensure cost-effective project execution without compromising on design integrity.
Oversee financial planning and resource allocation for school design projects.
Identify opportunities for value engineering to maximize efficiency and sustainability.
Functional:
Work closely with appointed architects and contractors to design and construct schools based on best practices.
Coordinate with design teams and consultants to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
Identify and integrate best design practices to enhance school infrastructure.
Utilize BIM (Revit Architecture) and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to develop and refine design concepts.
Create design templates and handbooks for various types of schools based on brand and country to be used as a briefing and scope document when engaging with other stakeholders.
People Focus:
Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, consultants, vendors, and school leadership.
Provide guidance and mentorship to teams involved in school infrastructure projects.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the design and project teams.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Professional Licensed).
Additional professional certifications such as GMP or GMFP will be an advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design and design management across different countries.
At least 3 years of experience specifically in school design.
Prior experience working with a reputable international architecture company.
Proven ability to manage large-scale projects with a strong design sense and attention to detail.
Proficiency in BIM (Revit Architecture) and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Strong knowledge of sustainable and innovative design practices.
Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including architects, consultants, vendors, and school leadership.
