Job description

The MolyCop business currently has 12 manufacturing facilities located throughout Australasia, South and North America, Europe. The business supplies steel consumables, primarily grinding media to the Copper and Gold mineral processing sector. The business has revenues in excess of $1.4Billion and employs more than 1200 direct employees.

MolyCop’s raw material feedstock strategy incorporates a range of supply options including domestic sourcing, make own via our EAF steelmaking facilities located in Canada and importing ~800KT of bar and other traded products. The Singapore trading office is responsible for the sourcing and supply of our imported bar needs.

Role Purpose:

The role supports the Freight Manager, to ensure our imported bar feedstock needs as defined through our S&OP process, are delivered in full and on-time, as well as the most cost efficient and effective freight and logistics service that leverages our volume, demand planning, mill relationships and market insights.

Role Accountabilities:

1. Assist in negotiating and securing shipment, coordinating with ship owners, brokers, and other stakeholders.

2. Support Freight Manager in managing day-to-day operational, including post-fixture activities and documentation.

· Upkeep cargo readiness and delivery status for all contracts.

· Advising suppliers on vessels ETA and co-ordinate inspections schedule with our QA/QC department.

· Reviewing details on Charter-Party Bill of Lading.

· Weekly reporting to internal stakeholders on ongoing/upcoming shipment.

· Applying COO and co-ordinate CCIC survey application (Indonesia import).

· Submitting shipment advice to internal stakeholders with complete set of documents (BL, switch B/L, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, MTC, COO, Insurance Certificate etc.)

3. Assist in monitoring the shipping market and gather relevant data to assist in decision-making processes.

4. Update Open Order record and generate Open Order Summary report.

5. Provide analytical support by preparing reports on market trends, performance metrics, and charter party agreements.

6. Assist in resolving any claims or disputes that arise during the shipment.

7. Participate in meetings and industry events as required.

Requirements:

1. Degree qualified preferred

2. 5+ years in competitively sourcing logistics categories/ Supply chain management, ideally with shipping ex Asia to US/Europe/ Latin America experience.

3. Break bulk experience is a must.

4. Strong knowledge of shipping process and documentation.

5. Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment

6. Ship Broker / Agent background will be highly valued

7. English and Mandarin language a must ( liaise with Chinese counterparts)

8. Good systems and soft skills including general Microsoft Excel and Microsoft D365

9. Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
