About the Department

Group Technology and Operations (GTO) provides software and system development, information technology support services and banking operations. We operate and support 19 countries with this architecture to provide a secure and flexible banking infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the Controls and Support, Remittance Callback, Remittance Investigations, Audit Confirmation and SWIFT operations teams.
• Build a dynamic and proactive strategy in Risks and Controls to ensure robust controls.
• Champion and drive process improvements through Elimination, Simplification and Automation, Straight Thru Processing (STP) and digitalisation.
• Plan, Review and Execute the business directions, goals and strategies for the teams.
• Supervise the team’s daily operations and meet all set Goals.
• Ensure products and services are delivered with accuracy and timeliness and in accordance to SLAs/KPIs set by management.
• Implement and maintain a high standard of operations control and compliance.
• Ensure escalations are raised to the appropriate management levels on a timely basis, where required.
• Ensure Bank’s policies, guidelines, controls and compliance requirements are up-to-date and strictly adhered to.
• Ensure the handling of SWIFT message routing and other processes are carried out as per approved Standard Operation Procedures.
• Ensure staff exercise vigilance when processing, overriding, authorising and approving transactions.
• Resolve areas of non-compliance or improvements highlighted by Auditors, Compliance, Risks Management and Regulators promptly.
• Manage the Key Risk Indicators at the division level.
• Ensure customers’ operational problems, complaints and queries are resolved promptly.
• Review manpower requirements for the team and ensure optimal training and deployment.
• Provide guidance, analyse staff capabilities to identify skills gap and arrange for coaching/training.
• Track key performance indicators and monitor staff performance.
• Monitor project milestones to ensure key deliverables and timelines are met.

Job Requirements

• Degree holder in a relevant discipline.
• At least 15 years’ experience in wholesale banking operations.
• Strong leadership, people management and interpersonal skills.
• Able to motivate teams to achieve stretched goals.
• Able to work effectively with all levels of staff and stakeholders.
• Committed, Dependable and demonstrate high integrity.
• Strong Risks and Controls experience in large operations setting.
• Strong knowledge of MAS and other Regulatory requirements.
• Technology savvy with understanding of information security and system functionalities.
• Good working knowledge in using Microsoft suite of products.
• A self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
