Financial Controller - Hospitality

Our client, an established and rapidly expanding organization founded in 2019, operates in the Hospitality (Hotels) and Food and Beverage (F&B) industries. As their business continues to grow, they are looking for a Finance Controller from the full-service hotel industry to join their expanding team.

Description

1. Oversee accounting and financial management for all F&B outlets, self-managed hotel properties, and a management services entity.
2. Manage the daily operations of F&B outlets and self-managed hotel properties, ensuring smooth processes and adherence to accounting standards.
3. Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance on accounting procedures, best practices, and fostering the growth of the finance function within F&B and hotel entities.
4. Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
5. Ensure the fair and consistent administration of company policies.
6. Prepare and review annual budgets, forecasts, and operating results, monitoring variances and taking corrective actions when necessary.
7. Implement strategies to optimize cash flow, reduce idle cash, and ensure sufficient operational funding.
8. Assist with cost control efforts by analyzing departmental expenses and identifying areas for cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
9. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and filing deadlines for all F&B entities, self-managed hotel properties, and the management services entity.
10. Support the establishment and stabilization of the Internal Audit and Procurement functions.

Profile

1. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA or equivalent would be highly beneficial).
2. At least 10 years of experience in finance, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within the hotel and F&B sectors.
3. Proven leadership and management skills with experience overseeing large finance and operational teams.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
5. A strong understanding of financial principles, reporting standards, and regulations.
6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and build lasting relationships with top-stakeholders.
7. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
8. Pre-opening experience is an advantage.
9. Familiarity with financial software such as Oracle Netsuite, Opera Cloud, various POS systems, and Microsoft Excel.
