Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Financial Controller to join our service company in the maritime sector. In this role, your main priority and responsibility will be overseeing the financial operation in Singapore. Due to our small company size, your additional tasks will be related to HR management and engagement in other ongoing projects in the HSEQ and sales field. Some of those projects will be locally, others will be in close cooperation with our partner companies in The Netherlands, US or UAE.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health of the organization while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

This position requires an entrepreneurial spirit wherein you can prioritize your variety of tasks and work independently. You have a flexible, 24/7 mentality and a passion for the marine industry.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Management:
    • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
    • Manage financial reporting and analysis to ensure accurate and timely financial statements on a quarterly basis.
    • Oversee project administration, accounting, invoicing and payroll.
    • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to maintain fiscal discipline.
    • Liaise with internal and external parties such as auditors, bankers, accountants, Company Secretary and shareholders.
    • Advise to management.
  2. Human Resources:
    • Responsible for HR including recruitment, compensation & benefits, performance management, and employee relations.
    • Develop and implement HR policies and programs to support organizational goals.
    • Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations (WICA, MOM, IRAS, CPF etc).
    • Advise to management.
  3. Sales and Business Development:
    • Identify, organise and execute events for potential customers locally and overseas.
    • Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
    • Conduct sales visits locally and overseas.
Job Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources or Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Experience: 8-10 years’ proven experience in financial management. Experience in HR and sales within the maritime sector is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of local laws and regulations in finance and HR.
  • Languages: Fluent in English and Dutch both verbal and written.
  • Travel to our overseas partner companies may be required for project and/or sales purposes.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strategic and analytical thinking.
    • Problem-solving capabilities.
    • Proficiency in financial and HR software / management systems.
  • Salary: 8,000 – 12,000 per month – depending on candidate’s profile.
