Get to know our Team:

The Finance Function is a trusted and strategic business advisor to the CEO, Board and shareholders, working in partnership with the executive leadership team and broader bank to propel the organization forward through a combination of financial, business and digital acumen, while delivering on the core mandate to provide sound reporting and controls. The CFO function comprises a high performing team covering the following areas: Financial Control, Strategy and FP&A, Treasury, Balance Sheet Management, Procurement and Strategic Projects.


Get to know the Role:

  1. Reporting to the CFO/Group CFO, this leadership role is responsible for financial reporting, regulatory reporting, financial accounting, financial control, vendor payments and tax outcome for GXS at Group and Bank level.
  2. Own and be accountable for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness and efficiency of all processes related to financial controllership for Digibank at Group and Bank level.
  3. Ensure Bank's compliance with company policies, applicable accounting standards, regulatory reporting requirements and tax filings.
  4. Ensure that financial statements are prepared timely and accurately with new initiatives correctly accounted for.
  5. Face off to auditors, audit committee, shareholders and various management committees on key financial matters.
  6. Develop, maintain and revise policies, procedures, systems, processes and internal controls to ensure that proper governance is practiced and upheld relating to reporting and controls.
  7. Project manage and implement various company-wide strategic initiatives as well as Finance internal projects. Think through the implications to various finance teams and drive all the work streams to complete deliverables in line with commitments.
  8. Be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, be organized and process effective and have strong interpersonal skills to successfully partner & drive cross functional outcomes.
  9. Have proven experience leading & mentoring high-performance teams (onshore and offshore) on day-to-day operations and key metrics while guiding them towards the strategic direction and objectives of the wider company.
  10. Identify opportunities to eliminate and automate where possible - make finance and related processes as simple and effective as possible (keeping internal customers in mind).

Experience requirement:

  1. Min. of 15 years of relevant experience working in the banking industry.
  2. Qualified accountant (CA/CPA/ACCA) or other professional accounting accreditation.
  3. Experience with IFRS / SFRS / SOX.
  4. Integrity and firm in ensuring compliance of policies and internal controls.
  5. Able to lead, guide and motivate a team to meet corporate goals and objectives.
  6. A natural leader who displays integrity, humility and responsibility, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both within and across business units.
  7. Well-developed and persuasive communication skills to interact with broad ranges of audiences.
  8. A self-starter, entrepreneurial and independent learner who takes the initiative to challenge the status quo, drive change and is comfortable with 'blank sheet of paper' assignments.
  9. A big-picture thinker who is detail-oriented.
  10. Ambitious, assertive, self-driven and highly motivated professional who can work well in a startup VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment. Should have a deep desire to excel and develop a career in a fast growing company.
