Financial Controller

The Periplus/Tuttle Publishing Group is a well-established book publishing and book distribution company based in Singapore and HK, with a 75-year history of successful operations in Asia. We are a small family-run business with overseas offices in the USA, Japan and Indonesia. We are currently seeking qualified candidates to be based in our Singapore office for the position of:

Financial Controller

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise a team of staff handling a full spectrum of accounting duties
2. Manage monthly closings, group consolidation, sales and statutory reporting
3. Liaise with subsidiaries and auditors to ensure timely submission of annual financials
4. Supervise annual inventory counts and reconciliations
5. Prepare and review annual budgets and quarterly variance reports
6. Manage group cashflow, AR, internal controls and statutory compliance
7. Prepare payrolls, statutory returns and employer submissions
8. Manage recruitment and personnel including WP, SP & EP applications and renewals
9. Supervise IT staff to keep software, hardware and back-ups running smoothly
10. Manage purchasing staff, deal with vendors & approve purchase orders
11. Provide technical support to warehouse and logistics team
12. Supervise general administrative matters as required

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in a senior accounting and administrative role
• Professional accounting qualification with excellent command of spoken and written English
• Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting, finance, taxation, logistics and standard business practices
• Excellent computer skills (knowledge of Sage, Excel macros and Crystal Reports all an advantage)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hands-on fashion with good communication and people skills
