Finance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join our growing team at Food Canopy. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the company by managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. In a 4 people team, this role requires a strong understanding of financial principles, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to ensure financial success and support the company’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
2. Develop, monitor, and report on budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics.
3. Oversee financial analysis to evaluate business performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
4. Manage cash flow, working capital, and investment strategies to optimize financial performance.
5. Supervise and mentor a team of Accounts Executives, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
6. Implement internal controls and processes to ensure financial accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
7. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
8. Work closely with senior leadership to develop financial strategies that align with business goals.
9. Analyze and report on key financial data to support decision-making processes across the company.
10. Identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
2. 2+ years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
3. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
4. Experience with financial software (MYOB) and advanced Excel skills.
5. Experienced in financing for company.
6. Strong leadership and team management skills.
7. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
