Finance Director

As a Finance Director, you will be responsible for handling regional and local finance and accounting responsibilities to improve financial controlling and reporting requirements for the company. Additionally, you will manage financing and industry requirements as well as balancing the risks exposure for the company. You will coordinate guidance between global and APAC markets on complex technical accounting matters (IFRS / local GAAP) as applicable. Responsibilities include timely, accurate, and informative monthly reporting as well as other ad hoc reports per national, regional, and/or global requirements.

Responsibilities

As a Finance Director, you will manage the following requirements for the region:

Accounting & Balance Sheet Governance

  • Ensure a strong financial control environment over AR / AP / GL and month-end close processes to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with local GAAP / IFRS and global accounting policies.
  • Maintain strong balance sheet governance.

Reporting

  • Review and align reporting in accordance with Regional and Global standards.
  • Work closely with respective Finance teams of APAC owned entities to drive better transparency in financial information.
  • Participate in month-end reviews for respective APAC entities to ensure timely and accurate monthly management and financial information.
  • Prepare and support Regional financial reporting BAU, including monthly financial and management flash updates, business updates, phasing analysis, etc.
  • Coordinate timely and accurate sales tracker BAU updates with respective owned entities in compliance with Regional reporting frameworks.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes for the APAC Region in compliance with Global and Regional controlling frameworks.
  • Work closely with respective functional teams of APAC owned entities to drive better transparency in revenue budgeting, forecasting, and recognition for better rationalization of reported KPIs, business trends, financial variances, and other statistical results.

Controlling Process

  • Assist in progressively reviewing, determining, and implementing best practices for the APAC entities to streamline analytical reporting processes for better management decision-making.
  • Recommend and develop policies, procedures, and systems to meet company objectives.

Project & Business Modeling

  • Participate in APAC initiatives for controlling and reporting efficiency.
  • Handle ad-hoc business modeling and projects as assigned.

Singapore Market Related Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations and delivery of the Singapore finance and accounting department, responsible for supporting Singapore's growth and profitability through partnership with local GM and MD.
  • Responsible for all aspects of financial and accounting activities, including financial planning, budgeting, analysis and reporting, client finance interfacing, controllership, taxation, and cash management.
  • Ensure that KPIs for Singapore are measured, analyzed, and propose solutions when required.
  • Influence activities or spearhead initiatives that will drive higher operational productivity, customer experience, and company profitability.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects as assigned, which may include assignments in other markets.

Requirements

  • CPA or any professional qualifications recognized by ISCA, Singapore.
  • University Degree/Master's degree in Accounting and Finance.
  • Proven experience in audit, reporting, controlling processes, project and business modeling, accounting, balance sheet governance, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Regional experience required.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and derive informed decisions.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a constantly changing environment, able to cope with ambiguity.
  • Ability to identify issues and use initiative to solve complex problems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
