Finance Director

Oon & Bazul is seeking a Finance Director to lead and manage the Firm’s financial operations. The candidate will provide strategic financial leadership, ensure financial stability and compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires a candidate with a strong background in financial management, experience in the legal or professional services industry, and the ability to collaborate with senior management to drive business growth and profitability.

The key responsibilities include:

1. Providing strategic financial leadership, which entails:
   - Overseeing all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial planning and risk assessment.
   - Develop and implement financial strategies to enhance the firm’s profitability and cost efficiency.
   - Provide necessary financial insights, risk considerations and recommendations to senior leadership on cost control, investment strategies and revenue growth opportunities.
   
2. Leadership and Compliance:
   - Leading the finance team, ensuring effective financial controls, audits and adherence to legal, tax and regulatory requirements.
   - Monitoring law firm economics, including billable hours, realization rates, pricing models and efficient cost structures.
   - Optimizing financial reporting for management, providing clear insights into firm performance.
   
3. Support management in leveraging AI and technology to enhance financial and accounting systems, improving efficiency and reducing manual processes.
   
4. Liaising with regulatory bodies, tax advisors, external auditors, banks and other consultants to support the firm’s practice.
   

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CFA) is highly preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in senior financial management role, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial systems.
• Proficiency in accounting/financial software and Microsoft 365.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
