Finance Controller - European MNC

Our client is a global ISO tank container leasing company. Their containers are used for the transport and storage of liquid products and they have a fleet of over 20,000 containers worldwide. With offices in Europe and Asia, they cover a global client base. In line with their business goals, they are expanding their market presence across Asia and are seeking a Financial Controller to join their Singapore office.

Description

• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial administration at both individual entity and consolidated levels.
• Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring high-quality output.
• Monitor daily liquidity flows and prepare short- and long-term liquidity forecasts.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Oversee billing, debtor control, and revenue recognition processes.
• Calculate and recharge Net Lease Income and Management Fees.
• Oversee FX and interest rate hedging processes, including setting up hedging documentation (IRS).
• Prepare Consolidated Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account, and Cash Flow Statement according to SFRS, including necessary eliminations.
• Manage the financial closing process at both entity and consolidated levels.
• Calculate high-level Corporate Income Tax and assist with related matters.
• Prepare monthly financial reports.
• Coordinate and act as the primary contact for auditors and tax advisors during audits.
• Prepare consolidated audit files according to SFRS and collaborate with the HQ Finance Director in Europe.
• Finalize calculations and allocations of intercompany costs and management fees.
• Manage balance sheet accounts for accuracy.
• Prepare financial statements for four entities and support the Finance Team on closing matters.
• Prepare reports for the Maritime Port Authority of Singapore (annual and ad hoc).
• Assist the CFO and Finance Director with budgeting, estimates, and ad hoc financial reports.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• CMA or CFA certification is advantageous.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar role with management responsibilities.
• People management experience of up to 2-3 headcount would be highly beneficial.
• Detail-oriented, efficient, and accurate in financial tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to liaise with offices in China and Europe, would be highly beneficial. Proficiency in additional languages such as Mandarin would be advantageous to facilitate communication.
