Job Description

In late January we announced that Bridgefield Capital signed an agreement to acquire Philips’ Emergency Care business, which includes leading brands and products like HeartStart AEDs, Intrepid and DFM100 monitor defibrillators, Tempus monitor and Tempus ALS systems, and Corsium and ECI informatics solutions. We expect the transaction to close at the end of 2025. With Bridgefield’s support and building on our 40+ year legacy of growth and innovation in emergency medical technology, the Emergency Care business will continue passionately pursuing our mission of saving lives, lowering the cost of healthcare, and advancing the science of resuscitation while serving the public access AED, EMS, military, and hospital market segments.

Finance Controller, Emergency Care APAC

This is a newly created role for the Emergency Care Business Unit, which will be carved out from Philips at the end of 2025. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and establish finance operations for the APAC region (Greater China, Japan, Korea, Asean, and ANZ). The Finance Controller will oversee both accounting operations and financial business partnering, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting while driving business performance.

Your Role

Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations

  1. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial and management reporting for the Americas region.
  2. Consolidate and oversee legal entity reporting, including the balance sheet, profit & loss statement, cash flow statements, and other required disclosures.
  3. Deliver internal financial performance reports, including monthly results, quarterly forecasts, and annual operating plans.
  4. Lead resolution of local accounting issues, collaborating with Infosys and other external partners to drive continuous improvements in accounting processes.
  5. Support financial audits and tax documentation preparation.

Financial Business Partnering

  1. Partner with the Regional Business Leader (RBL) to drive and grow regional business value by setting and achieving financial and strategic targets related to sales, pricing, margins, credit management, and costs.
  2. Provide financial analysis and decision support for sales channel strategies, market share investments, and financing solutions.
  3. Represent the company in discussions with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities, customers, and suppliers.
  4. Strengthen credit management processes in collaboration with commercial teams.

Disentanglement & Transition to NewCo

  1. Actively participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), proactively identifying and addressing issues while collaborating with the disentanglement team.
  2. Provide financial expertise to support a smooth transition from Philips to the NewCo.

You're likely the right fit for this job if you possess

  1. Minimum 10 years of experience in finance roles, with a strong background in both accounting and FP&A. Experience in supporting commercial organizations is a strong plus.
  2. Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  3. Solid understanding of IFRS and US GAAP.
  4. Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  7. Team player with the ability to build trust and collaboration across finance and non-finance teams.
  8. Adaptability and openness to change, with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  9. Self-starter with a proactive mindset.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
