The primary aim of the role is to deliver the forecasting and budgeting cycles, provide analytical review, financial modelling and business case preparation across various business units with the Asia region distribution business, and more broadly into the Global Media & Streaming division.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Manage rolling quarterly forecasts, budgets and LRPs; ensuring phasing, templates, commentary and figures are all accurate and delivered on time;
Develop and produce monthly financial and KPI reports that give meaningful insight into the business;
Business case modelling and analysis on new products, events, promotions and campaigns;
Partner with business leads to project in-year and long-term revenues; assist cost centre managers in accurately forecasting costs and planning future expenditure – across a number of different business units, such as Channels & Streaming, Content Sales, Consumer Business;
Key point of contact for BBC News-related finances within Asia – across channels and advertising, and liaising with UK colleagues for reporting of the same on a global basis.
Work with external partners where appropriate to develop a deeper understanding of business drivers in broadcast and retail markets and improve processes;
Utilise and develop financial models used by the CP&A team across the BBC Studios Finance community;
Understand end-to-end business processes and systems used across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal & Operations;
Create and update business process documents;
Understand current systems and processes within the business to determine divisional needs and identify new system opportunities or business processes which will provide added benefit;
Provide advice and guidance to the business on any other commercial and contractual matters, to ensure optimum long term value for BBC Studios.
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
Extensive accounting skills and work experience within a commercial environment.
Accounting experience; qualified via a professional Accounting body is highly desirable.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
Highly developed ability to evaluate and analyse complex financial projects and provide timely, concise and accurate advice to the business.
Ability to design, build and review financial models for significant business initiatives.
Ability to successfully deliver results on analysis or modelling projects, working autonomously or leading a project team, within negotiated timeframes.
Ability to build and sustain effective networks with a range of clients and stakeholders, evidenced by collaborative decisions, effective management of conflicting priorities and achievement of successful outcomes.
Ability to use an effective range of verbal and written communication skills to negotiate with and positively influence outcomes, clients and stakeholders and formally brief appropriate stakeholders.

Experience using accounting software packages; SAP (S4 and BPC) desirable.
Education
Degree qualified in Finance, Business, statistics or similar discipline.
Job Impact
Act as a finance business partner to members of the BBC Studios Asia Management team for a variety of finance matters.
Provide accurate financial planning and analysis, and value-add commercial support.
Relationships
Regular contact with business areas through face-to-face and virtual meetings.
Regular communication with the Finance Business Partners/Finance Manager within Asia, escalating issues on a timely basis.
Regular interaction with the other Commercial Finance Analysts of Global Media & Streaming, Brands & Licensing, colleagues within the Actuals & Reporting team, and contacts across the Finance function of BBC Studios Distribution business to share information.
Work closely with other regional functional teams – Legal, HR, Strategy & Insights, Comms, Tech.
